DENVER -- A Centennial-based organization has canceled an up coming charity event featuring Sarah Palin, citing safety concerns.
The Sharon K Pacheco Foundation announced Saturday that the 2011 Patriots & Warriors Charity Gala scheduled for May 2 would not be held.
"Due to an onslaught of personal attacks against Governor Palin and others associated with her appearance, it is with deep sadness and disappointment that, in the best interest of all, we cancel the event for safety concerns," said the Foundation's Director.

I agree with your assessment that something is not right about this. I’ve never heard of this organization (but then again I don’t know if every military charity organization in CO), and I was previously married to a service member. Security concerns without any direct threats? Doesn’t make any sense. Centennial is on the very southern edge of “Denver” in Arapahoe county where the population is much more conservative compared to the city of Denver, Aurora and especially north Denver and Boulder area. Centennial is closer to El Paso county so if they had legitimate concerns about safety, the organization could’ve easily moved the event into El Paso county which is significantly conservative with a lot a lot a lot of military bases.
I replied in email as follows:(didnt know what else to say this is disgusting)
Subject: Sarah Palin Cancellation
Message: If you cancel this event, those that treaten violence win! Please do not cancel this event or the speaker(s).
See my post #72 about the recent CNN/Opinion Research Corporation poll on Sarah Palin. It is no surprise to me they are using the opinion polls as a tactic against her. Whoever is our candidate for president will see the same tactics and the other tactics that Sarah Palin has endured.
no didn’t you read the thread. It’s all THAT WOMEN’s fault. because she couldn’t sell tickets at $7 per ticket. She just ins’t the draw that some think blah blah blah.and THAt WOMAN wanted bendy straws and the event was broke..../s
That would be the first event I’ve heard of featuring Palin that didn’t sell out almost immediately.
“Dont confuse the hellhole known as Denver with the rest of the state.”
Amen to that!!! Get out of the city of Denver (and god awful Boulder) it’s an entirely different state. Well that’s until you get into Pueblo:)

Excellent. I am starting to wonder whether this group is on the up and up?
The Community Organizer thugs won on silencing Bristol at that university in St.Louis too. They are on a roll now.
Where did you read that? Please be specific...
Dont know but now they have my email. Oh Noes! LOL!
no no no. That was due to Bristols unreasonable demands for a water bottle to be provided. It was just to expensive for the college to meet her massive demands so the college had no choice but to cancel. /s
Very sad and sorry that your group has caved and cancelled Sarah Palin’s appearance to raise funds for military families. She is a military mom, dedicated to God, country, honor, truth and duty.
I will continue to send my donations to Wounded Warriors and other worthy American groups that do not cave to political pressure from the Left. Talk about “White Flag Warriors” you are pitifully it.
Not to worry. They have mine, too.
WooHoo!
Wimps. The time to fight is here. Everytime some group caves in to the left only emboldends them No more retreats.
Muzzle, I think.
