Conservatives make me laugh and cry, sometimes.
From the very beginning of WND's relentless coverage of the eligibility issue, there were many very high-profile conservatives in public office and the media who discouraged any focus on it.
They whispered and muttered that it was not a "winning issue."
They wrung their hands in worriment over the possibility that Barack Obama would pull the rug out from under the pursuit by pulling his long-form birth certificate out of his hat making us look ridiculous for ever asking for it.
They even went so far as to suggest the whole controversy was a "trap" being set for those who went near it.
They warned that Obama is waiting for me to get out far enough on a limb so he can saw it off.
They were even afraid that Obama might indeed be ineligible and the nation would face a constitutional crisis as a result.
I didn't listen to them then, and I don't listen to them now.

If he does this we can demand he explain why he let a decorated Army Surgeon go to jail instead of producing the document.
Either way the good guys win.
NOT "He was born in Kenya"
NOT "his father is Frank Davis/Malcom X/etc"
NOT a bunch of gobbledegook about Hawaii's internal BC procedures.
Just this: "He is lying about his origins and early life (that much is obvious and provable). Why?"
Repeat as needed.
I WANNA SEE THE BIRTH CERTIFICATE, BARACK!!!!!

While you’re at it, the school records would be nice, too!
Obama should be forced to release ALL of his historical documents - passport, college records, BC, health records etc. Its obvious to the deaf, dumb and blind that he is a fatally flawed individual driven, like all liberals, by the mindset that the end justifies the means. Liberals lie. Its what they are and what they will always be. An honest liberal would never get elected.
When the size of the fraud is finally revealed, the issue should destroy Obama, the Demonrat party and the mainstream media for decades.
There is a force in play to drive out..the descendants of the original citizens created after the ratification of the Constitution.
These descendants are the natural born citizens. They are the indigenous Americans.
How could it backfire if Obama actually produces the proof? That's all we're asking for. That's all we ever asked for. I would consider it a major victory if Obama produced what I have been asking him to produce for two-and-a-half years. I would even be relieved to find out that the man occupying the White House is indeed constitutionally eligible for the office he has held for the last two years.
I still don't understand what is the downside of demanding something so innocent and so essential to constitutional governance as proof of eligibility.
I'm not afraid Obama will produce what I'm asking for. I'm afraid he won't. That's something very scary. It is already a constitutional crisis when the president can assume office and make profound changes in the direction of the country without ever proving he is constitutionally eligible.
Why won't he produce it?
Why is the WH so jacked up about a few states requiring long-form birth certificates before a candidate can be placed on the ballot?
If the WH believes these requirements are unconstitutional, or otherwise without legal basis, let them sue. Let them suggest procedural exceptions and give their reasons why these are appropriate.
There is no reason for the country to be put through this crappola again in the future.
It’s also necessary to clear this up for the future. It’s impossible and incredible that we can have someone run for president of the U.S. based on some political hack’s opinion that said candidate is eligible.
There needs to be procedures for establishing eligibility in a transparent (public) way and for review and redress thereof.
I could think Obama was a natural born citizen from here to Kingdom come and I'd still want procedures and judicial review available to preclude this becoming an issue with another candidate/sitting president in the future.
If Hussein is weak in 2012 he will get pounded on eligibility. If he is strong he can probably stiff-arm it unless Arizona and others make a long form birth certificate mandatory to get on the ballot in their states
Well listening to comments coming out of the White Hut this past week regarding Egypt, apparently all we need is a couple hundred thousand people showing up at the mall in DC protesting Obama’s legitimacy to hold office and he should transition out of office immediately.
That’s what I was thinking.
Lets Roll!!!
His grandmother in Kenya said she was there and witnessed his birth in Kenya. Who has said they were there and witnessed his birth when he was born in Hawaii?
You have to want to be fooled to disregard this evidence. Why would hid grandmother lie? It’s obvious why the others who wanted to win the Presidency would lie. She has nothing to gain. They did. You won’t see a birth certificate from him ever.
A “natural born” citizen is any person born of US citizen parents in the continental U.S., including Alaska, and Hawaii. His father was never a U.S. citizen. Regardless of where he was born, Obama cannot be a natural born citizen unless he has lied about his parentage AND he in fact was born in the U.S.. B.O. is not eligible.
If he cant produce a long-form, I hope LTC Lakin sues his a$$ for every penny he has.
As soon as he is on the ballot, file multiple complaints of election fraud in your state. We need millions of complaints to make it impossible to ignore.
You are absolutely correct. What is the big deal? That is what I don’t understand. I hate the righteous indignation on both the right and left concerning how bad being a “birther” looks? The chorus comes from a variety of sources but mostly from the same typical characters who malign Palin, think kissing gay butt and being soft on abortion will win the day.
While I don’t believe Obama’s birth cert will some how win the day for us I think it is a perfectly reasonable thing to expect the President to clear up any ambiguity on such things.
Hey look, your post is number 57, just like the number of states in Obamaworld.
Thank you for the well informed post. Geez, how many times do we have to clear the misconceptions?!
