To: Maelstorm
Even for those who don't question Obama's eligibility, birthplace, citizenship, etc. -- I say, so what? What is the problem with requiring proof of eligibility that is public and reviewable? That's the rub here.

I could think Obama was a natural born citizen from here to Kingdom come and I'd still want procedures and judicial review available to preclude this becoming an issue with another candidate/sitting president in the future.

You are absolutely correct. What is the big deal? That is what I don’t understand. I hate the righteous indignation on both the right and left concerning how bad being a “birther” looks? The chorus comes from a variety of sources but mostly from the same typical characters who malign Palin, think kissing gay butt and being soft on abortion will win the day.
While I don’t believe Obama’s birth cert will some how win the day for us I think it is a perfectly reasonable thing to expect the President to clear up any ambiguity on such things.
