It's hard to know where to begin in dismantling the Republican canard that Democrats control the media. Fox News is the most popular 24-hour news network by a whoosh and a cachung. Rush Limbaugh is the most powerful radio host, and lots of little Limbaughs line up behind him. Sarah Palin is the biggest media-political crossover star. And in an increasingly fragmented Internet, the Drudge Report continues to drives more political traffic than any other website. In italics and bold, to boot.
I don't begrudge conservatives this success. It speaks to message discipline and to feeding tasty food to a hungry audience. An audience that is right of center, which left-wingers far too often fail to acknowledge.

No room on title line for (Lib on Crack Alert!)
And another idiot makes himself known.....(the author, not you, Tex)
They act like the network newscasts don’t even exist.
Good for a Friday LOL.
AMERICANISM
Ping-a-ling.
We have a couple of niche places and they want to shut that down as well. Hipocrites? No they know what they are. Totalitarians.
Let’s be serious, the only reason this idiot is naming FOXNews, Rush, etc. is because 1) the vast majority of the libtard media is getting its collective rating ass whipped by the likes of FOXNews, Rush, etc., and 2) as par with libtards, when they do not get their way, they resort to fits of rhetorical outrage, calls for or insinuations of censorship (e.g.consider their move for ‘net neutrality’, etc.), and ending with whinning and crying type articles such as this.
Tell you what, start here and see how far you get:
Absolutely!
Were this author trying to design a radio, he’d still be at the crystal set stage.
And that crystal set (the most simple of radios) wouldn’t work.
What a dunce - and so very fitting as a liberal/progressive/idiot.
“Fox News is the most popular 24-hour news network by a whoosh and a cachung. Rush Limbaugh is the most powerful radio host, and lots of little Limbaughs line up behind him. Sarah Palin is the biggest media-political crossover star. “
But the majority of voters don’t listen to these.
To young folks (and some of us old ones) the networks DON’T exist. They only watch cable, and communicate electronically. Young libs may watch MSNBC or CNN instead of Fox, but they sure ain’t watching ABC/NBC/CBS.
Here’s another MSM useful idiot who needs to sign up for the Haj.
I would say that most of the article is fair. Except that he doesn’t get what the term mainstream media means. He takes it to mean the media that influences and informs people’s thinking. Another word for “mainstream media” that Limbaugh and others would concede is “old media” and that is truly what Limbaugh and others are referring to when they say “mainstream media”. The media that most of us grew up on. The dominant media culture in the last century. If the writer looked at it through that prism, then he would better understand what these commentators are talking about. It’s almost said as a joke because they are no longer mainstream media.
“An audience that is right of center”
This is the second flaw in the article. Fox News, Rush Limbaugh and Sarah Palin are representative of the center, Middle America, the so called “Silent Majority”. The whole spectrum has lurched leftward past it.
Conservatives - 1%
Liberals - 94%
Rich People - 4%
I guess the author couldn't sell his theory to very many readers.
But on top of all this real-world evidence of right-wing media primacy is even more compelling evidence that there's no such thing as a Dominant Liberal Media Elite: You can't control the conversation if you don't control the language.
Woo hoo....we control the language.
