After a day and night of pitched battles that broke up only as dawn broke, I went back to Tahrir Square with my team this morning to see which way the wind was blowing, because it's shifting all the time here.
What we found were anti-government protestors still in control of Liberation Square, and their resolve only stiffened. They're manning barricades to the square, and reinforcements are streaming in. People were bringing new supplies -- bottled water, bread and blankets -- digging in for the long haul.
Around the barricades, they're re-arranging the piles of rocks from Wednesday night to use as weapons if they're attacked.

Well if this #### Amanpour is praising the protestors, that clarifies to a large extent who the “bad guys” are here — the protestors!

Hope something good happens to stop these commie reporters.

I watched CNN for a time yesterday and it is absolutely disgusting how biased they are. Anderson Cooper was crystal clear how one sided he is. CNN is not a news organization but a radical left outlet.

It's amusing to watch the fools throwing the Molotov cocktails set themselves on fire.
Or throwing them when the enemy is way out of range. Setting fire to some blacktop isn't going to accomplish anything. Either throw for a target you can hit or save the gas.
I do have to admit I was surprised how effective that old fashioned cavalry charge was. Mounted rioters definitely could clear paths through the crowd. But they didn't have to organization to take advantage to their ability to split off groups of their opponents. The ideal tactic would be to break up your opponents and then fall on a part of them before the other can come to their aid. Instead they just road through the rioters who then just closed up behind them. Good theater, but no real impact.
Heck if the casualty figures being released yesterday are to be taken seriously there are more losses when Detroit won the World Series in 1984. I mean if you want to violently overthrow a government you need to at least be as dangerous as a baseball celebration.

Is not Amanpour the original war whore...? She is the classic useful idiot of the Islamic cult of death. When her usefulness passes, she will be stoned to death for adopting western culture.

“she will be stoned to death for adopting western culture”
The first man to reliably start fire without chasing lightening strikes and humping a hot cinder for miles was burned at the stake for consorting with demons.
The primitive mind is a fabulous thing.
He had to show those who incinerated him how to start his pyre.
They never forgot, and passed the trick on.

Amanpour was born in the UK (or Iran, according to some sources) to a British mother and Iranian father. That likely accounts for her pro-Islamic bent. Christiane, the “war slut”, has never lived under strict Muslim Sharia law.
I think ABC News ought to leave Christiane Amanpour on permanent assignment in Egypt.
