Former Governor Mitt Romney may not have decided whether to run for president, but someone else in his household has already made the call.
"My wife thinks I should run," he declared tonight in an interview with CNN's Piers Morgan. "She's absolutely committed. She's saying, 'You've got to run, you've got to have somebody who understands the world of the economy, small business, who can create jobs.' She's convinced I've got to run. But I have to look more broadly and say, 'Alright, Do I have a team necessary to do this?'"
Romney, continuing a whirlwind tour of television interviews to promote the new paperback version of his book, also talked up potential presidential rival Sarah Palin.
"I believe she is an extraordinarily powerful and effective voice in our party, that she has generated a great deal of support and attention," he said of the former Alaska governor. "She'd be great in a primary process."
When Morgan asked whether Romney could beat Palin, he said, "I don't know the answer to that."
The host then asked whether his wife knows the answer.
"She probably does," Romney replied.

Mitt and John are non-starters due the incredible religious bigotry found in too many parts of the US.
As far as Mitt Romney is concerned, I haven't gotten around to his religious membership.
The fact that he's a socialist (i.e.. an unarmed Communist) and a prevaricator on the crime of abortion was enough for me.

Never know what’ll turn up doing those body cavity searches!
Maybe Mitt should just look for a job at TSA.

I call him the Ken doll. He’s a phony! And he’s a big government liberal! And he’s a political “legacy” which I think we all need to avoid in this country from now on!

“My wife thinks I should run”
Actually she told him to, “Get out of the house!”

I saw part of an interview with him last night. He was wooden. Compared to Palin, he looks like a zombie. There’s a huge charisma gap, which will only widen as the Republican primary heats up.
To: dennisw
That's exactly what the GOP is counting on. And that's why the RNC and MSM will continue to 'pick' moderates and ignore conservatives.
Sorry, can't hold my nose anymore.

He's been running for about 4 or 5 years! He's been running since he took the job overseeing the Olympics, a loooooooong time ago. At the time, we here in Massachusetts knew that his next stop was the Massachusetts governorship, which he would then use as his springboard to the presidency. We knew the strategy: "A conservative wins in Massachusetts! He could win nationwide!"
Of course, to win, he changed his position on abortion, and did nothing to oppose homosexual "marriage." He essentially abandoned the governorship two years into his term as governor to run for the presidency in 2006. He was AWOL for TWO YEARS, and they give Sarah grief for resigning? Good grief.
And BTW, Romney didn't do anything to help Massachusetts fiscally. It was one of the last pro-life, conservative Democrats, the Speaker of the House, who kept spending from getting completely out of control in those years. Romney was s doorstop. Nothing more.

Best thing he (Romney) could do for the country, if he cares-would be to throw his support to Palin. That would be like Karl Rove endorsing Christine O'Donnell, and asking her to consider running again...

Romney prefers to abuse his wife and whatever dogs or people
he might find.
In 2008, the McCain/Palin ticket was up ++4 to 10 pts. in some polls, days prior to the election.
So rather than helping the GOP, Romney once again
had his backstabbing TeamROMNEY
attack Gov. Palin to throw Election2008 to the DNC.
Late in October, The American Spectator's The Prowler revealed:
"Former Mitt Romney presidential campaign staffers
have been involved in spreading anti-Palin spin to reporters, seeking to diminish her standing after the election.
'Sarah Palin is a lightweight, she won't be the first, not even the third, person people will think of when it comes to 2012,'
says one former Romney aide
'The only serious candidate ready to challenge to lead the Republican Party is Mitt Romney.
"Some former Romney aides were behind the recent leaks to media, including CNN, that Governor Sarah Palin was a 'diva' and was going off message intentionally."
"Peeking Out From the McCain Wreckage: Mitt Romney"
"Someone's got to say it: IS MITT ROMNEY RESPONSIBLE FOR OBAMA'S VICTORY?"
"Vanity: Team Romney Sabotaged Palin and Continuing to Do So?"
"Romney Supporters Trashing Palin"
"Romney advisors sniping at Palin?"

JUST RELEASED: BELOW IS THE ACTUAL PHOTO
of YOUNG MITT ROMNEY WALKING WITH (imagined) MARTIN LUTHER KING:
Is this the moment when the Romneys enjoy a family hallucination about marching with MLK.
"Mitt Romney Lies About Father Marching With Martin Luther King, Jr."
"Mitt Romney has been caught in yet another lie.
Only yesterday Romneys claim of not supporting Planned Parenthood abortion mills was abruptly smashed by a photograph surfacing of him at one of their fundraisers in 1994.
Today, its Romneys claim that his father marched with famed civil rights leader Martin Luther King, Jr.
During his Im a Mormona but it doesnt matter speech, Mitt Romney claimed he saw his father,
George Romney, marching with MLK during a 1968 civil rights march through Grosse Pointe, Michigan.
It was a stirring account of the efforts of his father to show that the Romney family have always reached across ecumenical lines.
Only one little problem
it never happened."
"Mitt Romney went a step further in a 1978 interview with the Boston Herald.
Talking about the Mormon Church and racial discrimination, he said:
"My father and I marched with Martin Luther King Jr. through the streets of Detroit."
"Yesterday (12//07), Romney spokesman Eric Fehrnstrom acknowledged that was not true.
"Mitt Romney did not march with Martin Luther King,"
he said in an e-mail statement to the Globe.
Against Myth Romney is 1:
"On Sunday, June 23, 1963, 125,000 people marched down Detroit's Woodward Avenue
to the Civic Center, in what was described at the time as the largest civil-rights demonstration in the nation's history.
According to the next day's account in the Holland Evening Sentinel,
the crowd at the Center "lustily booed," when representatives of Governor George W. Romney
read a proclamation declaring "Freedom March Day in Michigan." But Martin Luther King Jr. didn't fault Romney for his absence,
which the governor ascribed to his policy against public appearances on the Sabbath.
"At a news conference following the march . .
[King] refused to criticize Romney for not attending the demonstration," the Sentinel reported."
Against Myth Romney is 2:
Susan Englander, assistant editor of the Martin Luther King Jr. Papers Project at Stanford University, who is editing the King papers from that era,
says Myth Romney was untruthful, when she told the Globe yesterday:
"I researched this question, and indeed it is untrue that George Romney marched with [Dr.] King."
Against Myth Romney is 3:
"King never marched in Grosse Pointe, according to the Grosse Pointe Historical Society,
and had not appeared in the town at all at the time the Broder book was published.
Im quite certain of that, says Suzy Berschback, curator of the Grosse Pointe Historical Society"
Of course, RomneyBOTs continue to attack these educated women,
who have spoken the Truth about Myth Romney and venal, odious deeds.

“My wife thinks I should run,”
Exactly why he shouldn’t run. He’s too wishy washy if he needs his wife to tell him what to do.
Besides, she wants to outdo Michele. Her last and only chance to do so.

Romney = Proven bad governor, proven loser, dog abuser.
"As U.S. real output grew 13 percent between 2002 and 2006, Massachusetts trailed at 9 percent.
* Manufacturing employment fell 7 percent nationwide those years, but sank 14 percent under Romney, placing Massachusetts 48th among the states.
* Between fall 2003 and autumn 2006, U.S. job growth averaged 5.4 percent, nearly three times Massachusetts' anemic 1.9 percent pace.
* While 8 million Americans over age 16 found work between 2002 and 2006, the number of employed Massachusetts residents actually declined by 8,500 during those years.
"Massachusetts was the only state to have failed to post any gain in its pool of employed residents," professors Sum and McLaughlin concluded.
In an April 2003 meeting with the Massachusetts congressional delegation in Washington, Romney failed to endorse President Bush's $726 billion tax-cut proposal."
[Cato Institute annual Fiscal Policy Report Card - America's Governors, 2004.]
Alex Beam: In truth, Ronald Reagan
and Mitt Romney have as much in common
as Cardinal OMalley and Conan OBrien.
Deservedly or not, Reagan earned a reputation for constancy.
Once he turned against communism, he opposed it big-time.
. And our former governor? Inconstancy, thy name is Mitt!
A womans right to choose? Yes! No! Yes!
Are we in Massachusetts? Yes! Are we in Iowa? No!
Are we on TV? Whatever!
MSM bias for Campaign Coverage in 2008
"Despite outspending his rivals by huge margins throughout the primaries,
(Mitt Romney, Carpetbagger UT,CA,MA,NH,Mexico) lost Iowa, South Carolina, Florida and California.
The only primaries he won were in Michigan, where Dad was governor; LDS states;
and a few states on Super Tuesday in which his California-obsessed rivals
couldn't spare the cash to advertise.
Only John Connolly in 1968 had a worse cash-to-delegates ratio.
And John McCain rightly did not like Romney's tactics during the primaries.
(W)hen (Romney's early leads) started slipping away, he resorted to unfair,
distorted, scorched-earth negative ads, betting that his opponents couldn't
afford to spend enough for the truth to catch up to his charges."

If Romney had been more serious last time in 2008, Huckabee would be president. Allowing the democrats to bus in thousands of last minute voters to open primaries gave us McCain - the choice of liberals and independents alike. If Romney had been more on top of the process, he too would have bussed in voters to counter the libs. Huckabee has more baptists than romney has mormons.
