In Washington, bigwigs can misspeak and misstep a million times without drawing attention. And then there are the seemingly harmless moments that stick to a person like super glue: Joe Wilson barking You lie!; Jesse Jackson mumbling into a hot mic that he wants to castrate Barack Obama; Dan Quayle trying to spell things.
Like coal crushed into diamonds by the pressure of a million eyeballs, such moments are forever.
During an exclusive dinner hosted Monday by the Alfalfa Club, Obama adviser Valerie Jarret had just such a moment. And were it not for an irritated tipster, Jarret might have walked away from the dinner unblemished.
According to our tipster, Jarrett was seated at the head table along with several other big-name politicians and a handful of high-ranking military officials. As an officer sporting several stars walked past Jarrett, she signaled for his attention and said, Id like another glass of wine.

I'm reminded of a story that I have heard former Miss America, Vanessa Williams, tell on several talk shows. She alleges that she was at a state dinner sometime during Clinton's tenure (I think), and a women asked her for another plate as she was making her way through the dinning room. The import being that this woman was racist, because William - a black woman - must have been the help because black people in the White House are only domestic servants.
Who's the "racist" now?
I’m thinking she knew he was a General. That’s just how she treats military personnel.
I certainly hope a big spit wad was floating in it.
Remember when Madelaine Albright was mistaken for the cleaning lady in Russia at a meeting?
Probably drunk.
Doesn’t surprise me. They think they are Kings.
I vote for a big luggy.........if you know what I mean.
Now don't hold back, jewbacca, let us know how you really feel, ROFL.
I hope it was in the bottom....
Or something from his nose.
Well, that one is somewhat understandable. :)
I agree. This story is to try and "get ahead" of the PR on it and characterize it as a mistake of some sort rather than the deliberate slur it was intended to be.
I remember reading about the Clinton crowd having officers do menial things just to entertain themselves and that attitude runs all through the whole democrat fascist party and all those working for it. Ever since Johnson the democrat party has become ever more hostile to anyone in the military and ever more desirous of creating their own army like the SA was in Germany.
The BO crowd is really not suitable for civilized company.
Or the NK General who asked her to carry his bags was good too.
Honest mistake, if there ever was one.
Less than two years until these dregs get swept from Washington. Which reminds me, I’ve got to call my state reps about getting some legislation going having to do with fraudulent voter registrations.
No - just contempt. But the military brass and intelligence agencies are behind the muslim and do his bidding.
The American public just drools as they watch TV and accept their serfdom.
This was no mistake. Waiters uniforms look a whole lot different than a Generals. These “people” have nothing but contempt for the military.
Did the General call her “Ma’am” or did she demand to be called something else (a la Barbara Boxer)?
I can imagine what he WANTED to call her!
