You are correct. She never said that she had personally seen the birth certificate.

Obama never said that he was born at Queens. A high school newspaper reporter incorrectly quoted Obama’s half sister Maya as saying that he was born at Queens. If you read the original interview, Maya never said that either.

Governor Lingle did a radio interview on May 2, 2010, In that interview she said the following:”You know, during the campaign of 2008, I was actually in the mainland campaigning for Sen. McCain. This issue kept coming up so much in the campaign, and again I think it’s one of those issues that is simply a distraction from the more critical issues that are facing the country. And so I had my health director, who is a physician by background, go personally view the birth certificate in the birth records of the Department of Health, and we issued a news release at that time saying that the president was, in fact, born at Kapi’olani Hospital in Honolulu, Hawaii. And that’s just a fact. And yet people continue to call up and e-mail and want to make it an issue. And I think it’s, again, a horrible distraction for the country by those people who continue this. ... It’s been established. He was born here.”

Here’s the original article. The interview with Maya is on page 2. Note that it is the author of the article who states that Barack Obama was born at The Queen’s Hospital. Maya Soeotor-Ng never said that.

Do you really think that Kapi’olani would publish a letter from Obama stating that he was born there if their records didn’t show him to have been born there?

In any event, both Queens and Kapiolani medical centers are in Hawaii and to make it even more confusing, Kapiolani was a Queen of Hawaii before statehood and territorial status!

If Obama was born in a hippie commune on the north shore of Oahu and delivered by a midwife, he’s still born in Hawaii.
The state has confirmed that he was born at 7:24 p.m. on August 4, 1961 in the City of Honolulu, in the County of Honolulu, on the Island of Oahu, in the state of Hawaii and his birth was registered with the state on August 8, 1961.
Two contemporaneous birth announcements for him appeared in the “Health Bureau Statistics” sections of the Honolulu Advertiser and the Honolulu Star-Bulliten newspapers on August 13, 1961 and August 14, 1961.
Those are awfully high hurdles for those who oppose Obama’s eligibility to overcome and thus far, no success.

BUT Fukino said nothing of the kind.

look he may well have been born at Kapi’olani or even as 0dumbo himself said on more than one occasion and that in a listing at the Library of Congress that he was born at Queens.

The hearsay statement was referring to the teacher who was having dinner with the doctor.

Further, both hospitals will not go on the record to say that Barack Hussein Obama was born there.
