Trump has no chance, but he will probably have a few good things to add.
I am beginning to like Donald Trump more and more. He is a no nonsense, kick ass, and take names kind of guy.
Why do you say he has no chance?
Trump hates the Chinese, OPEC and oil speculators.
Good starting point.
If you're in the opposition research business - and there are plenty of people in that business - your life-long fantasy is to get your hands on an opponent like Trump.
I think Trump is generally a decent guy who is right about a LOT of economic issues, but he would be a DISASTROUS political candidate, at any level. At the national level, it would be Hindenburg bad.
Well, Don’s right about that. First thing a new Pres should do is fire everyone in govt with an Ivy League degree, especially in State. State’s a worse enemy to the USA than AlQaeda. Certainly they’ve done more damage with these “free trade” deals that allow our “trading partners” to retain most of their barriers. That sort of thing is the Yalie idea of free trade.

"The two sides [China and Russia] shall, in the spirit of partnership, strive to promote the multipolarization of the world and the establishment of a new international order."

If oil prices are allowed to inflate and keep inflating, if the dollar keeps going down in value, I think theres a very distinct possibility that things could get worse.
That Trump. He’s a real genius.
Sorry, Donald, you make too much sense; you have no future in politics - a field in which nonsense reigns supreme.

Me too. He’s saying a lot of things that make sense.
The Chinese are not the indigenous people of Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, Burma, Singapore, but the small Chinese minorities there control their economies.
Right now, the Chinese are buying up resources all over the world with the American cash we sent them. They ain’t buying resources with their own currency.
So Trump is instinctively right.
He knows how the real world operates.
He doesn’t have his head in a copy of Wealth of Nations, spouting free trade theories.
I just hope he sticks to his promise to run in the GOP primaries and that will be the end of it. I fear the nation is primed for another Ross Perot campaign, and that is something we can ill afford.
My concern with him is that he's yet another celebrity (like Schwarzenegger) who talks tough but once he gets there, you find out it's all show. (Remember Arnold's talk about disbanding the unions in Sacramento? And how'd that work out?)
The Don is running and his hair is on fire.
During a debate between a Chinese student and American critic of PRC behavior, the Chinese student responding to American accusation of unfair Chinese practices pointed out that in the last century when China was weak and technologically backward, how did the US and the west use their strengths. Gunboat diplomacy, military coercion to force China to give up her tariffs, open her markets and resources to US/Western businesses and even had streets/parks in Chinese cities off limits to Chinese authority and Chinese citizens. As the Chinese student pointed out, now China is on the rise and the US is in the decline, why should China act differently???
My comment to free trader freepers are if the Chinese people see their rise to power as a means to revenge against the west and US for past misdeeds, why are we still trading and enriching them with technology and money???
I think you answered your own question. Yes married life. Yes business relationships, that include gambling and real estate development, which are EASILY the two most corrupt industries in the country. Even the low-hanging fruit would be enough for a competent opposition campaign manager to sink his chances.
Whether or not Trump would be an effective politician, is another story. My guess is, he would not, especially when his first brush with managing government bureaucracy is with the biggest bureaucracy. That's not a recipe for success.
Since you asked about Arnold, apparently he didn't realize that California elects a Governor, and doesn't coranate a king. He may have had all the best intentions, but in California, all the real power lays with the legislature, and with the "people" via the ballot initiate process. That's why California is un-fixable.
Is he kidding??? These "leaders" would probably sell American land to the Chinese so that they could start colonies.
