SANTA FE – Governor Susana Martinez announced today that she has signed an executive order rescinding sanctuary status for illegal immigrants who commit crimes in New Mexico while protecting victims and witnesses of criminal acts. The order signed by Governor Martinez directs law enforcement officers to inquire about the immigration status of those who are arrested for committing crimes.
“This order takes the handcuffs off of New Mexico’s law enforcement officers in their mission to keep our communities safe,” said Governor Martinez. “The criminal justice system should have the authority to determine the immigration status of all criminals, regardless of race or ethnicity, and report illegal immigrants who commit crimes to federal authorities. Meanwhile, it is important that we safeguard the ability of victims and witnesses to report crimes to law enforcement officers without fear of repercussion.”

You cannot tell whether someone is an illegal by appearance any more than you can tell whether someone is illegally carrying a concealed weapon. We should not live in a world in which we have to prove we’re not a criminal to every cop we see.
However, when one commits a crime, they get frisked. It’s logical to inquire about immigration status at this time, also.
It’s only a matter of time before the criminal element is deported, and with the loss of driving privileges to illegals, some of the incentive of staying is lost.
At age 17 she was an armed security guard and carries heat (or did so until she became governor). One story has her being interviewed by NBC when running for governor last year. When the technician was getting her wired for a microphone she had to caution him that she had a weapon under her belt. And it runs in the family - her great-grandfather Ortega was a general in Pancho Villa's army.
Gee - maybe someone in New York can investigate illegal gun sales in New Mexico. That’ll teach ‘em!

I disagree with that. Having lived most of my life in CO and several years in NM most illegal aliens from Mexico and Latin America stand right out from Hispanic Americans. Not 100% for sure but quite a lot of them.
Maybe with the WH ‘retirements’, King John will be picked for something in DC and we can can start over.

How do they stand out? I’m farther north so I can only guess as to immigration status, if they don’t speak English and use EBT (welfare) debit cards, I’m guessing they’re illegal.
