Barack Obama braces for Jon Huntsman 2012 bid
Polutico ^ | Monday January 31, 2011 | Jonathan Martin

The White House expects Jon Huntsman, the U.S. Ambassador to China, to resign his post this spring to explore a bid for the Republican presidential nomination, top Democrats said.

GOP allies of Huntsman have already begun laying plans for a quick-start campaign should the former Utah governor decide to enter the ill-defined Republican field.

Huntsman has avoided publicly discussing the possibility of a bid against the president who appointed him, but he’s sending signals that make clear he’s serious about a run now – not in 2016, when many top officials in both the GOP and the White House assumed he’d run

Congratulations.

You have parroted the media narrative perfectly.

All I ask is for you to keep an open mind, you may be surprised. (Remember, this is the same media that proclaimed Obama a Messiah... the narrative is false and can be overcome easily with the truth once the campaign starts — see Reagan/Carter1980)

You need to open your eyes.

Yes the media made him a Messiah.

And he won.

And they have her painted as a witch.

And she will lose.

So much for your keeping an open mind.

We’ll see.

I think the Tea Party will have something to say about it. And if Sarah gets a chance to debate Obama, it will be game over.

I agree. Underestimating Romney—and thus having conservatives feel entitled to the luxury of splitting their early primary vote—would be a huge mistake. The game could be over within a month of the NH primary if Palin doesn’t run a very smart and energetic campaign.

Well, I'm a Conservative and a Evangelical and I voted for Romney in the primaries because unfortunately he was in my opinion the best of the lot.

If I'm still alive for the 2012 election, I'll vote for anyone that has an R beside their name, and doesn’t have horns and a pitchfork in their hand.

Is he a Mormon? That would hit old Mittens right where it hurts if he can’t swing Utah.

I’ll give you this: the GOP had a sorry field in ‘08.

Should be somewhat better in ‘12, though I only see one electable conservative—and the Dems, MSM, and Establishment RINOs have been trying to stop her before she even enters the race.

The problem is (besides of course Huntsman is a RINO) is that he WORKS for Obama right now as ambassador to China.

Things are pretty dicey with China as usual, and if Huntsman takes on Obama and starts to campaign against him, what is that telling the Chinese? That the American they are asked to trust the most, the one who represents the president to them, believes our president is weak, ineffective and should be booted?

Yeah, that’s just great,

If Sarah can be destroyed politically by the MSM, then no GOP candidate can win 2012 - the same all powerful MSM that went after Sarah will go after them too once they get the nomination.

Some have this notion that either the MSM will go light on the other candidates or that these others can deal with the media better than Sarah, The same candidates that hid during the Healthcare debate (Mitt) that talks out of both sides of their mouth (Newt) and thinks that if they play along with the media they won’t get savage like Sarah? Bull!!!!!!

McCain was the so called ‘MSM best friend’ but as soon as he got the nomination - they said that he was old, out of touch and that his campaign rallies had a tinge of racism in them etc

At least Sarah fights back against the media, I have no confidence yet that the others will fight back when that time comes

The MSM will "go light" on other candidates only if it's apparent there is no friggin' way they can beat the Democrat.

Ergo, if you've got a Republican candidate that the media is not in constant full throated howl against 24/7, you've got a sure loser. See McCain, John, 2008.

more likely Mitt will throw his support behind Huntsman. I really don't think Mitt is going to run. He has been very quiet about his future plans. Sure he is building a org for a run but that can be given away wholesale to someone like huntsman and Mitt can use that transaction to secure a major position in a huntsman campaign.

Due to his willingness to serve BHO, he has no chance of getting past the primary gates.

Re: the headline: Why would Zer0bama have to "brace" for a Huntsman run? (He wouldn't get past the primaries)

If anybody needs to "brace," it's those to oppose yet another posing as a "pro-life conservative." Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman, Jr. Oks Murdering Babies Of Pregnant Underage Girls After The Infants' Grandparents Give Their Consent

Citing his belief in the "sanctity of human life," Gov. Jon Huntsman Jr. signed legislation Thursday that will require Utah girls to get parental permission to have an abortion. "I support efforts to restrict abortion except in instances of rape and incest or where it's necessary to preserve the life of the mother," Huntsman said through a spokesman. The law will allow a judge to bypass the parental consent requirement if the teen's life or health is in danger or in cases of rape or incest. But even in pregnancies from incest, a parent still must be notified.
Source: Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman, Jr. Oks Murdering Babies Of Pregnant Underage Girls After The Infants' Grandparents Give Their Consent (March 17, 2006 Covenantnews.com)

So, Huntsman, as long as "Grandma" or "Grandpa" says "dismember away" on your grandchild, it's "A-OK" with you? (What about all those spirit babies born in the pre-existence that Mormons believe that need those bodies to inhabit?)

Hmmm...consistency even with religious worldviews only goes so far, eh?

And notice the weasel language used by Utah legislators and the Governor -- many of whom are Mormon -- that "The law will allow a judge to bypass the parental consent requirement if the teen's life or health..."

Give me a break...Roe vs. Wade proved that the "health" exception was so broad you can drive a truckload of dismembered babies through...Roe vs. Wade included even "economic" health considerations upon the family!

I definitely see a 3rd party candidate getting in the running to pull some of the vote away from the Republican candidate to assist in an Obama second term.

Can you say Ross Perot?
