The White House expects Jon Huntsman, the U.S. Ambassador to China, to resign his post this spring to explore a bid for the Republican presidential nomination, top Democrats said.
GOP allies of Huntsman have already begun laying plans for a quick-start campaign should the former Utah governor decide to enter the ill-defined Republican field.
Huntsman has avoided publicly discussing the possibility of a bid against the president who appointed him, but hes sending signals that make clear hes serious about a run now not in 2016, when many top officials in both the GOP and the White House assumed hed run

Huntsman or Romney...
Both are RINOs..
The WH would just love to have either of them in the GOP slot
“I’m so excited”, now what was the topic???
lol.
I love it when these people try to tell us who to vote for.
*ping*
The establishment republicans are starting to PANIC!
Romney has imploded, Huckabee (the one they thought could take Sarah out) isn’t running. Pence isn’t running.
While I’ve always thought Jeb would wait until 2016, he may jump in if they see Sarah really is going to take it...which as of right now, she is in perfect position to do.
Anyone who thinks I’m crazy needs only to look at all the polls and add a majority of Huckabee’s voters to Governor Palin’s column (as they are for the most part Evangelical Voters who Sarah polls very well with.) She’s almost everyone’s second choice, and once they start dropping out, her numbers are just going to increase.
This thing could be over before it starts.
Governor Palin is going to walk away with the nomination and win the White House in a landslide.
Obama sandwich, except both sides are white.
bttt
Huntsman backed McCain early on? That won't exactly recommend him to many conservative voters, or even not so conservative Republicans who oppose McCain's amnesty schemes, which was the main issue McCain was identified with early in the 2007 - 2008 primary campaigns.
Obama “braces” for a Huntsman run?
Sounds like a “don’t throw me into that briarpatch” moment.
He sure isn't going to get far in the republican primaries.......
I keep hearing about this nobody - is he supposed to be 2012 Soros/DNC/MSM answer for McCain? (I’m assuming they’ve figured out they can’t stick us with that excuse for a candidate again).
So he’s going to quit his job with the Obama administration which he took when he quit his job as governor of Utah.
This is nothing more than Politico BS; printing a Huntsman PR release.
I had read that Huntsman endorsed McCain in the GOP primaries while his father endorsed Romney.
Say hello to Journolists latest Republican contender (anybody but Palin) of the week.
