President Obamas top science adviser said theres a need to educate GOP climate change skeptics on Capitol Hill as the White House seeks to advance its green energy agenda.
It is an education problem. I think we have to educate them, said John Holdren, who heads the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, in an interview broadcast Sunday.
Obama, in his State of the Union speech last week, called for deriving 80 percent of U.S. power from "clean" sources by 2035, and funding increased R&D of green electricity and fuels by repealing billions of dollars in oil industry tax breaks.
But the effort comes as a substantial number of GOP lawmakers, such as House Science, Space and Technology Committee Chairman Ralph Hall (R-Texas), are questioning climate science.
Holdren, asked about advancing Obamas agenda in the face of skepticism, said the scientific evidence of dangerous human-induced climate change is powerful. The science of climate change is really very clear in its essentials, Holdren said on Platts Energy Week.

Starting with Al Gore and a peek into his finances.
It must truly suck when your political objective is to convince people the planet is warming up while they are freezing their asses off.
This jerk missed it.
.
He has a lousy memory too.
This is an education issue but it's the warmists who need educating.
Freudian slip there. The evidence is "powerful" because government funds billions in climate catastrophe research each year. Money = power.
He means there cut in the lie. How much is it going to cost for your education on global warming? I mean, how uch money will you need to see the light?
The list, ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
I love it! LOL!!!
I’m in the biz. My company has to buy renewable crap. I have to price the renewable crap as part of my job. I HATE this stuff. It is uneconomic at it’s simplest consideration. However, the root of the movement pushing this is anti-human, anti-industrialization. It’s a moral and existential fight. It must be won. It must be won by those believing in mankind.
On the other hand, they are woefully deficient when it comes to knowledge of statistical analysis.
Their data is also bad.
We have made the most headway with them when it comes to the data. For example, after we demonstrated that over half the "standard weather stations" on the planet had provided questionable data, and that any such stations in South America or Africa were undoubtedly non-functional, Hansen dropped the data sets taken from the bad devices we found and dropped all the data from all of South American and Africa.
More recently the GW fanatics have been forced to accept the fact that GW, if it ever existed, STOPPED in 1999 ~ the year we started using satellites to gather temperature data worldwide and at different altitudes.
Over the next 20 years as the ice cap piles up on Baffin Island they might even be persuaded they were wrong. Still, they'll continue to be a formidable force since so much is at stake ~ they look to seize control of the world economy and functionally murder more people each year than all the tyrants in history were able to do in their combined careers.
They will continue to use weak sisters like Obama to enable them to do their evil work. This is why we have to tighten up the standards for Presidents ~ as one Carter was too many, so too is one Obama!
Here is education. Unless you build thousands of nuclear plants, develop super duper battery technology that is affordable, find a way to make trains, cars and aircraft run on batteries with stored power, then you are a freaking dunce.
And Congress needs to enforce the Data Quality Act. CO2 drives the climate is a scam and Obama knows it.
That's what's going wrong.
The only solution is to not let anybody else send any messages, just them.
Translation: They’re not falling for it.
I was thinking the same thing, especially that yet another winter storm is set to dump 20+ inches on Obama’s home town of Chicago. Global Warming is their religion, Obama their prophet. Maybe the One will force people to shovel snow as exercise to keep them from ever going to see a doctor. It will be sold as a cost cutting measure for Obamacare.
I’m just as edumicated as John Holden.
They also need to be “educated” that their eyesore windmills are a joke.
