PLAINS, Ga. (AP) -- Former President Jimmy Carter says the political unrest and rioting in Egypt is an earth-shaking event and that President Hosni Mubarak probably will have to leave office.

Jimmy’s been waiting more than 30 years for someone to come along and orchestrate a foreign policy screw-up worse than his Iran fiasco - short of the Muslim Brotherhood, he’s got to be the happiest person on the planet as a result of this mess.
