The nation’s capital is freaking out over a winter snowstorm.

But everyone else should be up in arms over the real snow job in Washington this week.

While the Democrats continued to extol Obamacare and the president defended the behemoth law during the Date of the Union, HHS was quietly presiding over a massive Obamacare Waiver-mania explosion.

When last we examined the growing list, privileged escapees topped 222.

Now: The list now at 729 — plus 4 states (Massachusetts, New Jersey, Ohio, and Tennessee).

Seems like ObamaCare is not being applied equally.

This is just obama’s version of the “new deal”.

The new deal is you have to pay to play, just like in commie countries.

In such places, friends of the administration can do what they want. Enemies have to toe the line to avoid jail, if they’re lucky.

This was intended all along to be
paid for by his political enemies
and paid to his political allies.

The next thing the house needs to pass is a bill banning 0bamacare waivers.

A freeper on another thread had a good idea. If a Repbulican is elected president in 2012 couldn’t he just declare that every American organization or individual who requests a waiver from Obamacare will be granted one. Could a President destroy Obamacare like this with the stroke of a pen?

Has the law been challenged in court based on the 14th Amendment? I do not see how the arbitrary enforcement of the this law is in any way constitutional.

Has a application for a waiver been denied? If so, who. Is there any reason given? Or, if you apply for a waiver is it automatically granted?

Thanks!

I wonder if individuals can apply for a waiver. If so, it might make for an excellent Alinsky-esque, overwhelm the system, grassroots movement. Everyone who opposes Obamacare could file an application which, likely, by law, would have to at least be replied to, even if it is a denial.

I'd like to see a republican lawmaker introduce legislation that is written specifically to exclude a certain class of citizen from its enforcement. On its face, I'd love to hear the democrats’ righteous indignation toward the obvious favoritism extended in the bill and then I'd like to see the republicans point to waivers in Obamacare as their inspiration for doing it. Although it is impossible for liberals to self diagnose hypocrisy, it's always fun to point it out to them (and the use of graphics with them is always required).

The mere fact that not one politician in D.C. will cover himself under this monstrosity (including John Boehner (R-OH)) shows what a fraud it is. I would demand that all Tea Party members in congress (both houses) immediately refuse the deluxe health care that they get at our expense, and be forced to go under this pile of garbage just to show that they mean business.

C’mon, John Boehner, let’s drop your coverage too . . .

“That is ridiculous.”

Oh, really? Asking the politicos to put themselves under that ridiculous health care bill is ridiculous? Why? Shouldn’t they suffer equally with us?

Your “ridiculous” is ridiculous!

I believe that Rep. Upton has formally asked this question. It is believed that the oil companies have been denied.
