Fox Sports said they would not air it because they deemed it too controversial, Taunton said. I was stunned because the commercial is so tame. The text does not appear on the television screen, and no one reads John 3:16 aloud.

maybe they just worried they’d have to accept ads from a maker of astroturf prayer mats

It’s sort of a local story right now, wish it could get broader attention

In all fairness, they are also refusing the “Ashley Madison” ad.

So who aired the ad using Doritos instead of a Eucharist? No one aired the ad using Doritos instead of a Host. It was on youtube.

I don't think he'll get into a sporting event anytime soon.
That's Rollen Stewart, also known as "Rockin' Rollen" and "Rainbow Man." He was a fixture at various sports venues all over the place back in the 1980s, but is now serving a lengthy prison sentence for a bunch of charges related to an armed standoff in Los Angeles (where else) back in 1992.
The world was never the same after they locked that guy up.

No one has the right to be heard. Sometimes, I wonder if people make ads they know wont make tv just so they can get press for being victims. And thats not necessarily a bad thing. If someone sees this story and reads the Book of Joh, then did the group achieve their goal? I would say so.

Ouch. That could have turned out better. Then again maybe he was just trying to start a prison ministry.

I think he was nuts. He wore that shirt to all those sporting events as a way to “get his message out,” then started to get a lot of grief from sports TV producers who wanted their camera crews to avoid putting him on television. Once his public exposure declined I guess he went off the deep end. The armed standoff was apparently part of a plan to have a news conference on live TV to “get his message out.”

I’m ok with Fox having the right to discriminate. I’m just as good with my right to broadcast the fact that Fox is no friend to the Conservative. :-)
