There goes U2's Bono again, imposing his will on the Major League Baseball schedule.
As it attempts a reboot of its canceled 2010 tour, the world's biggest rock 'n' roll band is booting the Seattle Mariners and Florida Marlins from Sun Life Stadium for their interleague series on June 24-26. Instead of home games in Miami Gardens, the Fish will take on Ichiro(notes) at Safeco Field in Seattle using National League rules. This apparently means 84 home games for the M's and 78 for Florida. Uneven!
It also could mean that AL Cy Young winner King Felix Hernandez(notes) (pictured holding the young man) could get to bat in front of the home crowd. If his turn comes in the pitching rotation, of course. Look what can happen when the best pitcher in the AL gets in some hacks.

Eh. The Phillies played an extra 3 games at home last year when they had the G20 conference in Toronto, and they didn’t want to run both events simultaneously. Didn’t help us beat the Giants, however......
U2 stinks, and they alwayts have, and Bono is an asshat and always has been.
If he really wants to “help the disadvantaged” as he claims, let him sell that castle he has and give the money to charity. Otherwise he needs to keep his political opinions to himself.
But he needs to quit torturing humanity’s ears with that noise alleged to be music.
How dare some lousy FOREIGN band mess with the National Pastime.

I’m sure it was the Marlins fault for not, you know, actually checking to see if they had games scheduled or anything.
They’ll probably sell more tickets to U2 for one night than they would for 3 days of M’s-M’s games, though. Viva capitalism!
I said "Not you two again?"
I really thought last year was our year.
And you wonder why the Marlins have trouble gaining traction in South Florida. The only sell-out they know is when the club sells out their fans to another venue on the other end of the continent.
