NBC’s “Harry’s Law” Is Leftist Claptrap
David Horowitz's NewsReal Blog ^ | January 25, 2011 | Megan Fox

I have to laugh every time I hear leftists defend their awful ideas like population control, universal "health care," and the benefits of Communism. As usual, the first response that always comes to my mind is, "You first!" Tonight's example comes from NBC's new show starring Kathy Bates, Harry's Law. I don't go into network TV shows expecting conservative values or anything, but I am always surprised when they go off the deep end pushing the Left's point of view with the ferocity of terrorized Scotts wielding a battering ram. Harry's Law is so far left and over the top, it's riotously funny for reasons the writers never intended.

I missed the first episode so I started with episode two, but I quickly figured out that Harry (Bates' character) left a high-powered position at a respectable law firm to open a storefront in the ghetto. This is a favorite story-line for the Left. They only love lawyers when they defend guilty criminals for free. Prosecutors need not apply. So it began in the usual way, propping up people who gave up the American Dream to work for socks full of change from the desperately poor. (How they pay for their unlimited data plans and designer suits is a mystery.) This show is chocked full of stereotypes and, dare I say racist ones, like the "wise old black woman."

Couldn’t spare the time to watch this crap last night. Wednesday nights is “Night at the Range” night on the Outdoor channel. The night they have all of their gun shows. Shooting Gallery, Best Defense, American Rifleman TV, Shooting USA, Cowboys, etc.

I will watch these shows over anything on NBC, CBS, ABC, PBS or even Fox. Love my gun shows.

As is USA network's Fairly Legal with Sarah Shahi.

Pretty girl with no truth filter.

Pretty girl with no truth filter still trumps about 80% of what's on television.

And half the audience isn't going to pick up on any political messages anyway.

One way to look at it: every day she's in Hollywood making her silly television series and not back in Iran is another victory for us.

The Kathy Bates series, like Jimmy Smits's last year is an obvious turkey, and even people who agree with its message aren't watching. It won't be around long.

Don’t forget the wise gay friend the heroine can share her relationship problems with.He is always so witty, and has life figured out. They don’t show any of his private life, however.

Oh and don’t forget the one in almost every movie and TV show:
Incompetent Dad works too many hours, and is made to feel guilty for not spending as much time with kids as Loving Mom who never works, but is not a house wife, or can’t explain why they live in $500,000 home, both drive Mercedes’ except for the fact that Dad actually works! According to Hollwierd he is only supposed to work an hour a day, so the Mother can do what she wants during the day, and child doesn’t suffer psych damage!
After I started pointing that one out to my wife she now catches it more than I do. It’s in 90% of what they make.

Oh, you're talking about Absentee Dad, who's so caught up in the paper chase he neglects the things that are really important in life. However, his wife, who is wayyyyyyyy farther up the corporate food change than that mere bungler, always seems to have time to fight off a hostile takeover, write childrens' books, and still make it to all her daughter's dance recitals.

Then there's Loving Gay Guy, who looks just like the guy down the street, except when he's wearing his butt-out leather chaps and the ball gag he sports on weekends at the bathhouse. No, seriously, he's in a loving, monogamous relationship with a macho dude who repairs diesel engines, and doesn't know or care about doilies, Cher, or interior design. In fact, you'd never know he was gay ... until he opens his mouth. Then you can never forget.

And Robbin' DaHood, the hardened inner-city anti-hero who dropped out of pre-school and now makes long green selling drain cleaner crystals to crack addicts. Became a legend in gang circles when he cut out his sistuh's kidney "cuz she wan't usin' it and my dawgs needed some rock."

And how about Angry Young Idealist? His every sense is attuned to the injustices of the world. His ears ring with the cries of the oppressed. Their pain is his pain. With laser vision, he perceives the broken bodies of the downtrodden. He tastes the bitter gall of inequity and smells the flatulence of unfairness. It becomes his life's mission to turn on the vent fan of love and understanding, to disperse the poo-poo of greed and liberate humanity from its white, Christian, male overlords ... Goes blind before he's 30 from the glow of his own halo.

And there's more ...

Objection! The Law & Order shows are all about prosecutors andf totally libtastic. In fact, there have been more instances of anti-abortion violence on those shows than in the real world.

As for Harry's Law being liberal claptrap...c'mon, it's David E. Kelley, the guy who brought us "busing hundreds of black kids from inner city Green Bay" on Picket Fences. For those who don't get what I mean, there are almost no black fols in Green Bay and no "inner city" anyone would need to be bussed out of.

I might have been interested in Fairly Legal until they made it clear on the commercials that the character is a slut. True, it’s not like there’s no sex on the USA shows I do watch (Burn Notice and Psych) but I have no ides what any of the characters’ ass cheeks look like and I’m just fine with that, thank you.
