Theyre afraid that a Dem wouldnt be elected if they had a special election.
Believe me I understand. I'm not far from the district once held by Eric Massa.
Gov Dave (Patterson) didn't hold a special election when Massa quit, for the same reason.
The seat was eventually won by the GOP in the last election.

Sanchez is a realist. Giffords will not return for many months, if ever. Yeah, maybe so... but there's a time and place... and... oh, what the hell.. dems in a snit. Grab the popcorn!

giffords will never return....they need a rep...let’s not be stupid...

You are right. The news of Gifford's recovery is probably overstated in it's omission of the liabilities she will likely have. Yeah. During a recent presser with Giffords' docs, one reporter had to damn near drag out of one doc the fact she has paralysis on the right side.

Realist my eye.
It sounds like she’s a scheming opportunist, as most socialists are. This is not the time to pull a cheap stunt like this. But this does illustrate that there is no depth a Democrat won’t sink to when it comes to grabbing power.

Im no Sanchez fan but I dont see the issue here. When the starting quarterback goes down you put in the back up. You dont say, were going to go without a quarterback until we know how long before the starter can come back because to do otherwise would be insensitive.Bad analogy. This is the House of Representatives, where the majority rules and minorities get steamrolled. It matters not whether the Democrats actually replace the congresswoman since her vote will not likely be critical. This is especially true on the House Armed Services Committee.

"It matters not whether the Democrats actually replace the congresswoman since her vote will not likely be critical."
Then why do any minority members bother with committee assignments at all or show up to committee meetings? Also, if that's the case then why would anyone care if someone subbed for her if it doesn't matter?

Sanchez is the person who defeated B-1 Bob Dornan with thousands of illegal votes.
She & her sister are each a real piece of work.

But, the people of her district are going to be without a representative in all things congress does. Aw, heck, here in the Bay Area, I've felt that way for about 10 years.

Sooner or later someone had to say it.
She does need to be replaced , I doubt she will ever be back.

The people of her congressional district should care. I was speaking from the viewpoint of the Dem House Leadership. Sanchez is making a huge PR mistake.

And that part I like. Just because it doesn't make sense to me doesn't mean I can't enjoy watching her squirm over the condemnation. Her tears are delicious.

She will have very similar symptoms and rehab requirements of a hemispherical stroke victim. Paralysis on her right side may be permanent.

Agree.
Apparently many on here have never known any stroke victims.
