I’m no Sanchez fan but I don’t see the issue here. When the starting quarterback goes down you put in the back up. You don’t say, “we’re going to go without a quarterback until we know how long before the starter can come back because to do otherwise would be insensitive”.

Bad analogy. This is the House of Representatives, where the majority rules and minorities get steamrolled. It matters not whether the Democrats actually replace the congresswoman since her vote will not likely be critical. This is especially true on the House Armed Services Committee.

Then why do any minority members bother with committee assignments at all or show up to committee meetings? Also, if that's the case then why would anyone care if someone subbed for her if it doesn't matter?
