Sarah Palin denies she is for amnesty. Yet she is for a pathway to citizenship via 'registration'. No matter how you or Palin spin it a pathway to citizenship is amnesty.

Per Webster amnesty is the act of an authority by which pardon is granted to a large group of individuals. Pardon is defined as the release from the legal penalties of an offense. Deportation is the penalty for the offense of being an illegal alien, ergo not deporting is amnesty.

Talk about cherry picking what Palin said! Here are exact quotes from the Univision interview:
As governor, how do you deal with them? Do you think they all should be deported?
There is no way that in the US we would roundup every illegal immigrant -there are about 12 million of the illegal immigrants- not only economically is that just an impossibility but that's not a humane way anyway to deal with the issue that we face with illegal immigration.

Do you then favor an amnesty for the 12 or 13 million undocumented immigrants? No, I do not. I do not. Not total amnesty. You know, people have got to follow the rules. They've got to follow the bar, and we have got to make sure that there is equal opportunity and those who are here legally should be first in line for services being provided and those opportunities that this great country provides.

To clarify, so you support a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants?
I do because I understand why people would want to be in America. To seek the safety and prosperity, the opportunities, the health that is here. It is so important that yes, people follow the rules so that people can be treated equally and fairly in this country.

FYI, Three separate studies have shown the number of illegal aliens currently to be ~ 40 million, not 12 - 13 million.

That would be Univision as McCain's VP in 2008. What do you think she should have said as a VP candidate in a Presidential race?

Load up the cattle cars?

As opposed to my post...

http://www.mediaite.com/tv/sarah-palin-americans-must-learn-from-reagans-mistakes-on-illegal-immigration/

"learn from Reagan's mistakes"

That would be the follow-up AFTER his amnesty which the DEMS reneged on. The Democrat controlled Congress promised Ronald Reagan they would build a border fence, increase the Border Patrol and do other steps to stop all further illegals entering if he would sign the Amnesty bill. He did and the Democrats in Congress then reneged on every promise they made.

Sound familiar?

BTW, folks used to think the Earth was flat. The commoners figured that one out too.

So, one more time...

Currently there is no other pathway than the existing laws.

A amnesty bill must first go through the House and Senate. Not very likely now.

Until such pathway exists the way I read this is Sarah is saying rather plainly and with no embellishment "you will be deported."

She states her first step is to "register" all the illegals, AS illegals.

That alone will put the fear in them, sending many back across the border, getting the attention of potential employers and will certainly send the communists into a foaming-at-mouth rage causing them to make mistakes. An "amnesty" such as what we were looking at with McCain is not in the cards.

Do you REALLY believe that any Congress you or I can imagine would institute a policy to deport upwards of 30 MILLION illegal aliens (most of which are Hispanics) with voting patterns being what they are? If not, what do we do with those illegals? Please give us your plan.
