After last night's yawner of a SOTU, a little levity is surely in order. So get your Wednesday off to a smirking start by laughing to the words of an MSNBC exec claiming his network doesn't have a political agenda.
Bill Wolff, MSNBC's VP of primetime programming, who moonlights as Rachel Maddow's executive producer, let the side-splitter slip in an interview with the Hollywood Reporter. The subject matter was the MSM's fixation with Sarah Palin. Wolff argued that Palin merits extensive coverage because she's "powerful and important" and what she says "matters." Wolff should have quit while he was ahead, but apparently couldn't resist adding his fact-defying claim as to MSNBC's impartiality.
Quoth the Wolff-man:

Bored by the SOTU? Looking for a laugh? Try this! Ping to Today show list.
Well we can see from their business practices they don’t have a business agenda. So what the hell is their agenda? Just bored?
I’ve always heard that if you’re going to lie, tell a whopper. Folks will swallow those much more quickly than a small one.
That is such an outrageous and obvious lie it has passed through the far side of satire even. You just have to shake your head in disbelief that anyone would even try to pass it off. I mean, it is a lie that'll never be believed. It is so far from reality as to not even be good satire... So what is the point or intent behind making such a claim? Does he just want to look stupid/disconnected from reality? Does he really see himself as that much of an elitist that "the little people" will believe anything he says? {snort} In the end, he just comes off looking like a tool.
That’s crazy.
The few million morons who watch MSNBC drivel are irrelevant now. The train has keft the station.
i propose that he believes it.
i propose that he lives in a world where he interacts ONLY with those of like mind.
he would be lieing if he experienced anything to the right of the only-left-circles he runs in, therefore if he knew what he was saying contradicts reality, BUT, what he is saying doesn’t contradict all the facts he knows...it’s true within his very limited experience/view.
just mho.
Yes and I’m the Easter Bunny.
Whatever Bill’s inhaling, it can’t be legal.
I agree. He believes it.
Thye all do.
Crazy??
Hell yeah they’re crazy.
Anybodyb that backs the Kenyan is crazy.
People must be quaking in their boots about their job security at NBC/MSNBC.
How else can you explain such comments about Palin when all we've heard for several years is that she's not important and dumb as a stump. Now she's suddenly got gravitas? Pleeeease. People aren't stupid and see through this charade.
And I'm not even going to comment on the complete inanity of his "political agenda" comment.
C’mon .. when you live on the Upper West Side, that is not a political agenda. It’s just what is. A leftist political agenda would be unrecognizable. Fox, on the other hand ....
