My sister passed away this evening and I just don’t have the heart to continue it tonight. She passed peacefully while sleeping surrounded by her family. The preacher had been by earlier and they prayed and sang hymns as she slept. The nurse said she would probably not wake up again and she didn’t. Thank you all very much for your prayers and support.

Your sister received the grace of a peaceful death. That is the good Lord’s gift to his beloved child. It’s something that Catholics pray to St. Joseph to receive and what Christians, in general, hope to have — a loving family surrounding them to pray them home. Now, you rest and let not your heart be troubled for to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.
As time goes by, you will find her closer to you than she ever was in life and the memories of the good times will cheer you when you have a down day. She’s home now (and if I can imagine a sister of yours, she’ll never let you forget she got there first). ;-)
