The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) procures and stores pre-packaged commercial meals to support readiness capability for immediate distribution to disaster survivors routinely. The purpose of this Request for Information is to identify sources of supply for meals in support of disaster relief efforts based on a catastrophic disaster event within the New Madrid Fault System for a survivor population of 7M to be utilized for the sustainment of life during a 10-day period of operations.

There was one someone mentioned in a FR thread that was green and cost only $40 and looked pretty substantial.

Shipping on it was something like $25.

Any shipment from Emergency Essentials will cost only $12.00 no matter how much your shipment weighs.

You definently need to be prepared and keep as independent as you can financially afford to be during a disaster.

What worries me is that people along this fault line might not have flood and/or earthquake insurance for their homes and household goods. If you don’t have that insurance coverage, you lose everything in a disaster that hits you.

If I was on that fault line (within the area they have projected damage which is more interior rather than coastal) I would get earthquake insurance for a few years. Everyone that could be affected should talk to their home insurance companies about conditions of coverage for flood and eathquakes.

If this is like the coastal disasters, most people are not going to stick around in a dangerous structure/home pining for any such disaster aid. They take their important papers and stuff that is not ruined and move it into storage and themselves into temporary housing - like an apartment or friend/family’s home until their home is fixed.

People in the area that will be affected by the fault line need earthquake insurance so they can rebuild!

It sounds like this FEMA stuff is for the coastal areas...hurricane territory. They make these preparations every year before hurricane season. It looks like the water Fema is ordering as covered in this video is for the New Madrid Fault line and the annual hurricane disaster supplies.

The New Madrid fault line is not likely to affect coastal areas when you look at the map and projected damage areas for an earthquake. However, they sent out feelers for food for 7 million displaced by an earthquake in that area so they are expecting action. Or they just could be stocked with too much “global warming” disaster money from the stimulous.

Will be reading it today. If it is worth it, I'll send you a copy this evening.

They have done this in different forms for years. 40 years ago I used to deliver and pick up from a Gov food warehouse. It was 1 million square feet and packed to the rafters.
