This sounds like a front to put up large stores of food
for long term continuation of government. Just in case
something (planed) were to happen to our food supply.

Two of my consulting clients belong to the Zetas, a new-age group who are predicting a massive disaster in the New Madrid Fault Line. According to them, this quake will cause the Mississippi River to widen to 100 miles and cause utter devastation in a huge portion of the country. I recall reading the Zeta blog a while back. Yeah, the New Madrid fault is worth our concern and attention, but the Zetas factor the gravitational pull of "Planet X" into the causes of the coming earthquake, IIRC. Sorta makes one take their predictions with a *big* grain of salt.

More to this. Take a look at this additional request:
The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) procures and stores blankets to support readiness capability for immediate distribution to disaster survivors routinely. The purpose of this Request for Information is to identify sources of supply for blankets in support of disaster relief efforts based on a catastrophic disaster event within the New Madrid Fault System for a survivor population of 7M to be utilized for the sustainment of life during a 10-day period of operations. FEMA is considering the following specifications (14M blankets per day):
- 100% cotton;
- White;
- 66” x 90”

This doesn’t pass my smell test either. The diet specs sound like they’re intended for persons who WILL NOT need extra calories because they will be in area of confined physical activity.
Moving the nmumbers around it would seem you could sustain a smaller group of ‘subjects’ for a reasonable length of time with the nourishment they need without giving them the energy to do anything physical. (like riot or escape)

Good points and policy.
During these coming bad times it is a good idea to have a year’s supply of food and critical supplies. Once those are built up, one can replenish stocks when consumed (as you do).

Good grief. You don’t eat blankets. Once you have one, you can reuse it.

"Noticed that it the specifications were also food Nazi PC; lo calorie, no trans fats, lo fat, lo sodium, vegetarian, etc. And at 2 meals/day."It will keep survivors alive, but not strong enough to fight, if you catch my drift.
