I would offer him no more than about 8 or 10 million.

Remember, if you take the net present value of your winnings, it is only about 62%, and you pay 35% federal tax. and 4.9% Idaho income tax.

Since his claim is doubtful, and he is not the sharpest knife, he would probably take it.

To each his own. If she only gets half, she gets $95M. What the heck is some poor soul going to do with $95M????? Now, I’m sure she could swing a deal where she could get more than half, and wind up with something north of $100M. But I’m not sure I see the point.

Idaho state income tax is 7.8% until the bill to
lower it to 4.9% passes. I’m watching my pay
stubs to see when that takes effect.
