Liberal nonprofit Common Cause is asking the Department of Justice to investigate Justices Clarence Thomas and Antonin Scalia in relation to the Citzens United Supreme Court case, arguing that their decision in the case raised "serious questions about the impartiality of" both justices.
"It appears both justices have participated in political strategy sessions, perhaps while the case was pending, with corporate leaders whose political aims were advanced by the decision," writes Common Cause President and CEO Bob Edgar in a petition to the Justice Department filed this week.
The organization contends that the justices should have recused themselves from the case, which opened the door to greater spending by corporations on election campaigns -- and that the controversial 5-4 decision in the case should be vacated.
The groups cited as evidence the apparent appearances of Thomas and Scalia at past political retreats sponsored by energy and manufacturing conglomerate Koch Industries. (The New York Times reported last year that the latest invitation to the event advertises Scalia and Thomas as previous guests at the retreats.)
Common Cause argues that if either justice "attended or spoke at a Koch Industries meeting" between 2008 and 2010 - during which period the court was considering various aspects of Citizens United - "it would certainly raise serious issues of the appearance of impropriety and bias." The invitation did not specify when the justices had attended the retreats in the past.

The Executive branch filing charges against members of the SC. That would be a sight to see. Libs are leading us into a quagmire that will require deep cleaning. They will be the first to go.
The Libs are so desperate to regain control of the Court that they will try anything - including personal attacks on the justices themselves...

Big liberal institutional donors to Common Cause include Arca Foundation ($1,395,000 since 2000), Carnegie Corp. of New York ($1,360,000 since 2001), Beldon Fund ($1,300,000 since 2005), and Joyce Foundation ($570,000 since 2002). Before he became U.S. president, Barack Obama served on the Joyce Foundation's board.
At least four members of George Soros's Democracy Alliance, the billionaire socialists' club, have also given big to Common Cause, which suggests that Common Cause is a Democracy Alliance-approved grantee. The list includes Soros's Open Society Institute ($1,225,000 since 2001), Lewis B. & Dorothy Cullman Foundation Inc. ($75,000 since 2004), Rutt Bridges Family Foundation ($23,000 since 2004), and Gill Foundation ($20,000 since 2004).
They don't call the source for this story "See-BS" for nothing.
When, if at any time at all, were the Justices speaking to this group? It seems like a matter of a rather simple factoid check.

Let’s investigate the true source of the hundreds of millions of dollars received by Vladimir Hussein Obunga in October 2008 - supposedly in ‘small’ individual contributions but most probably from the Saudis and the emirates. Which would explain, among other oddities, Obunga’s uncontrollable habit of touching his forehead to the ground [prostrating himself] before any goatsucking Saudi potentate. And we all thought Dubya’s holding hands with the visiting goatsuckers was beneath his office. Of course shutting down all stateside exploration and drilling couldn’t stem from a conflict at the highest level, could it? We are being raped and looted by the kaffir imposter and his slimy socialist cabal, to a fare thee well.
I would say that definitely is a conflict of interest but he of course denied that is was and no other judge has called him on it that I know of.
Only the House can investigate, only the Senate can hear the case.
It is that simple.
