On his daily radio and television shows, Glenn Beck has elevated once-obscure conservative thinkers onto best-seller lists. Recently, he has elevated a 78-year-old liberal academic to celebrity of a different sort, in a way that some say is endangering her life.
Frances Fox Piven, a City University of New York professor, has been a primary character in Mr. Becks warnings about a progressive take-down of America. Ms. Piven, Mr. Beck says, is responsible for a plan to intentionally collapse our economic system.
Her name has become a kind of shorthand for enemy on Mr. Becks Fox News Channel program, which is watched by more than 2 million people, and on one of his Web sites, The Blaze. This week, Mr. Beck suggested on television that she was an enemy of the Constitution.
Never mind that Ms. Pivens radical plan to help poor people was published 45 years ago, when Mr. Beck was a toddler. Anonymous visitors to his Web site have called for her death, and some, she said, have contacted her directly via e-mail.
In response, a liberal nonprofit group, the Center for Constitutional Rights, wrote to the chairman of Fox News, Roger Ailes, on Thursday to ask him to put a stop to Mr. Becks false accusations about Ms. Piven.
Mr. Beck is putting Professor Piven in actual physical danger of a violent response, the group wrote.
Fox News disagrees. Joel Cheatwood, a senior vice president, said Friday that Mr. Beck would not be ordered to stop talking about Ms. Piven on television. He said Mr. Beck had quoted her accurately and had never threatened her.
The Glenn Beck Program, probably above and beyond any on television, has denounced violence repeatedly, Mr. Cheatwood said.

....YEAH, same place where Durbin got his letter....
Frances Fox Piven is a primary example of why LSD has been illegal since the late 60’s
These people, like Pivens, who want to destroy America also seek its protections and threaten the rights of those who would out them and their intent (Beck). They want to do their evil in obscurity, behind the magical curtain. The advocate group, CCR, is a straight out Communist group, with the progeny of none other than Julius and Ethel Rosenberg. I am glad Fox told them to bug off.
The clips Beck has been playing are recent interviews and lectures she has given. Her words not his.

The boy who wrote this forgot to include the Cloward-Pivens basking in the spotlight of glory at the signing of motor voter by the Toon.
Precisely.
But, if the NYT publishes a lying story like that, maybe some clown will send her a real threat and then they’ll really have some shiite to write about.
The NYT and its Gay Mafia...should have been drug away with the real Mafia the other day.
..great opportunity to widen Beck's message about her...
..get the Piven quotes out while this is news!!
Beck will survive this....but she might get her obnoxious notoriety exposed.
Happens to me ALLLLLL the time... :-)

She sure did...
And sometimes what you sow is what you reap.
Of course, so far all we’ve gotten from that old cow is hot air.
If Beck said anything that implied anyone should respond to her views with violence, she should report that to the authorities.
If Beck distorted or lied about her views, she’s got a mouthpiece at the Times to correct those lies or distortions.
If Beck presented her views accurately, and she no longer holds to them, she can renounce them.
If Beck presented her views accurately and she still sticks to them, her gripe is with the loons who are threatening her, not Beck.
The left is mad because one after-effect of the Giffords shooting is that all their violence is now going to be highlighted. They won’t be able to use the MO’s they’ve used for years. Piven included. Ha.
Now that’s what I call support from the Boss.

The soft boys on the Times management team are impressed with “academics.”
They might teach death, destruction, and chaos but they’re from academe, so that makes them special.
Still I don’t trust Beck.
