Earlier this afternoon, I went downstairs to purchase a soda. Not seeing Diet Cherry Coke in the selection, I purchase a Cherry Coke. I took it back upstairs to work and took a sip. It tastes like cardboard with a little sweetening and a little something that might be cherry flavor.
I looked at the ingredient list, and it seemed OK. Then I saw these words: VERY LOW SODIUM. Uh-oh. If I recall correctly, a number of companies agreed with Moochelle Obama to lower the sodium content in their products. I suspect that Coca-Cola entered into the agreement.
Since I payed for this soda, I'll finish it up, BUT NEVER AGAIN! I am not suffering lousy-tasting, Moochelle-compliant sodas anymore.
You work at Pepsi, I bet.
Oh, I hope I’m wrong about this, and the sodas have been “very low” sodium all along.
No, I do not. If Pepsi starts tasting similarly lousy, I won’t drink their stuff, either.

What we have here is an opportunity. If Coke and Pepsi et al start tasting like cardboard, there is a room for a new company selling decent soda.

I suggest you’re experiencing the ‘real’coke. Not so great after all, is it?
I’ve never drank soda regularly. Coca-cola with rum, a Cuba Libre, is terrific but really fattening.
As for the calorie free sodas: some sugar substitutes are metabolized by the human body and converted into wood alcohol. Not good at all.

All sodas state “low sodium†just like Twizzlers have “naturally fat free†on their packages. Some people see that and immediately think “healthy!â€.
This is not a change. It´s marketing to fools. How much SALT would one expect to find in SUGAR-water?
Get a mexican coke and pour some maraschino cherry juice in it.
