Unions protest Wal-Mart by distributing flyer of devloper's home address with crosshairs
Washington Examiner ^ | 01/19/2011 | Mark Hemingway

As you'll recall, last May the SEIU seized on a brilliant new tactic for protests. It seems that if you disagree with someone's business decisions its now fair game to show up at the guy's house and scare the wits out of his children. (Or at least that's what happened last May when the SEIU staged a protest at a Bank of America executive's house.)

Well, now Wal-Mart has announced they are building stores in metro D.C. Wal-mart is non-union (that's why goods there are so gosh darn affordable), so obviously the local unions are not happy about this development. So what's their plan? The fine folks at Wal-Mart Free DC (charming little smiley face logo on the website there) want to go protest at the developer's house. They've announced this protest by widely distributing a flyer with the developer's home address on it with some crosshairs thrown in for good measure. This should end well ...

They should be arrested for stalking and/or terrorism.

True, but “Made in China” doesn’t hurt either.

No it's not. It's because virtually all of their merchandise is made in China.

China Mart can pack up and leave. Hope the unions make their life miserable.

I’m generally pretty libertarian when it comes to free speach and protesting, but I do think there is one area wherre we should draw a line: a person’s home.

A person’s privacy in their home should be respected.

But, but if Walmart used union thugs, Minorities, Women & Children will not be able to afford the products they need to survive in this cruel, uncaring nation.

Just say "NO" to Union Thugs!

Megyn Kelly was just discussing this. She said that it’s not against the law for them to show up, but once they’ve been notified that they’re unwelcome, not invited, etc. that they can be arrested if they stay.

“No it’s not. It’s because virtually all of their merchandise is made in China.”

Wrong!

Not their food, not their services: pharmacy, optometrist, haircuts, not their credit union.

Evidently you like to pay more for everything you could have bought for less at Wal-mart.

You must be an SEIU member.

Watched that report on Megyn Kelly’s show - interviewing Nina Easton (neighbor of the BOA executive and collateral victim of the SEIU thugs). Nina Easton was outraged & noted that only FOX covered the story and noted how the MSM would react if it were a TEA party demonstration/protest.

I remembered her as a PBS leftie so I checked out Nina Easton’s bio;
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nina_Easton

In 1998, Easton left the Los Angeles Times, and joined The Boston Globe. At the Globe, Easton served as a lead editor of the 2003 newspaper series on John Kerry, and oversaw much of the paper’s 2004 presidential campaign coverage.[5]

In May 2006, Easton left the Boston Globe, to take over as the Washington Bureau Chief of Fortune Magazine.

She has also appeared as a commentator on ABC’s This Week with George Stephanopoulos, CBS’s Face the Nation with Bob Schieffer, CNN’s NewsNight, NBC’s Meet the Press with David Gregory, and PBS’s Washington Week, among others.

- looks like she has come a long way baby;)

They should be arrested for stalking and/or terrorism.

That's what should be done. But it won't.

I wish the commie union thugs would mark my house with crosshairs. Unlike some, mine is actually equipped with crosshair-like devices and I know how to use them in self-defense.

Seize the assets of the SEIU as a terrorist organization. Arrest and prosecute the persons who directed the stalking action and those who appeared to terrorize the family. A little RICO prosecution is in order.

Union thugs (excuse the redundancy) know that they will never be prosecuted for incitement to violence.

If the left weren’t hypocritical, it would condemn this.

Wal-Mart carries much merchandise made OUT OF THE US because it hasn’t been made IN the US for years. How many TV’s are actually made here? How many cameras? How many shoes? What percentage of clothing? Ball point pens? Computers and their accessories? (don’t say it, I own an Apple, too).
Governmental interference, regulatory nonsense, environmental demands, zoning restrictions, the bar association making its own fortune suing every employer it can, and the outrageous demands of unions are literally forcing manufacturing and jobs out of the country.
If Wal-Mart carried ONLY products made in the USA, it would have to down-size EVERY store to 300 square feet. Of course, the environmental nuts would just LOVE that, because the roof area would be miniscule, and the size of the hot-topped parking lot could shrink 75%.

No it’s not. It’s because virtually all of their merchandise is made in China.

Their food and pharmacy are not. However, regarding toys and electronics, you really don’t have much of a choice about buying Chinese/East Asian imports at any major department store chain, because just about all stores do this, and not just Wal-Mart. The real issue you could address is the suggestion of a number of toys and/or electronics that it is “good” for a child to have.

That sounds like a pretty overt call for violence against a specific individual.

I tried to alert people to the dangers of the SEIU many years ago.

I got nowhere.

Now, I am vindicated.
