Beautiful, but scary. It seems a bit crazy to me to live anywhere near it. If you live anywhere in the U.S., you are "near it", a major eruption would effect the entire world.

I worked in Yellowstone for a month, helping a scientist with his research. Being there before the tourist rush was wonderful. It was a time I’ll never forget.
If you get to Cody, watch out for the local cops; they are true AH’s with itchy pens.

Although I didn’t believe it before going, someone told me to spend twice as much time in Grand Teton Nat’l Park (directly south of Yellowstone). Yellowstone is stupendous and after visiting both I kind of agree. I could spend a lifetime in either but don’t miss Grand Teton while you are there.
