An abortion doctor has been arrested and charged with the murder of a patient and seven live infants whose spines were severed with scissors at a West Philadelphia clinic that has been described as a house of horrors, officials said today.
District Attorney Seth Williams said the doctor, Kermit P. Gosnell, was charged following a grand jury investigation.
Gosnell, 69, lost his medical license last year after health officials determined his clinic posed "a clear danger to the public."
Gosnell was arrested this morning, officials said. He has maintained his innocence.
The seven infants were born alive in the 6th, 7th and 8th months of pregnancy and killed by severing their spinal cords with scissors, William said.

Thank God the prosecutor isn't Lynn Abraham, Philly DA for years who recently retired. She might not have prosecuted him at all except for the adult woman who was killed, and/or perhaps less ardently.
IIRC, if Bundy had gotten off from the Florida charges, Colorado was waiting in the wings with theirs. The DC sniper had charges pending in a couple of other states that didn’t waste taxpayer money trying him, since Virginia gave him the needle.
And his employees kept their lunches in the same fridge with dead fetuses.
I care. Sometimes there are just no words.
Culture of corruption. And the lying left assured us that only backalley abortionists did such things in the pre-1973 AmeriKKKa.
I am sicker than ever. These babies need a decent burial and the murderers and sadists need to be punished - quickly.
I don’t know if Pennsylvania has a death penalty. I cannot think of a person more worthy of it than this monster - and his crew. These babies also had fathers and grandparents. People must publicly cry out for their loss.
This man seems to be particularly sadistical. He was joking about one of the “big babies” he had aborted who weighed six pounds (the same as my son at birth). He said, “That big boy could have walked me to the bus station”. What a laugh riot the doc is! What a sense of humor! There is a special place in hell for such a comedian.
I’m available for the firing squad if needed.
Disgusting.
This man is so wretched as to make me literally sickened at hearing about him. My stomach turns and my heart heaves.
I read about half of the grand jury report. It was’nt just seven. Far from it. And as a caution to others, if you are a sensitive soul and do not want to be scarred for life please do not read it!!!
I don’t think I’ll be able to sleep tonight. And I can’t stop crying. These people will be in the very hottest part of hell and I for one wish them to descend TODAY.
God bless those innocent little angels.
“Four hours and and only forty-three comments on a story about horrific murders in breaking news on a conservative website.”
I read the story and some of the details from the indictment. What more is there that can be said? There are no words in the language that I can think of that could be more damning than the facts. If those facts don’t already horrify you, then nothing I could say is going to.
Eric Holder will surely intervene, dropping all charges and placing him as a member of the Death Panel. /s
Hundreds of people must have known what was going on: the maimed women, their relatives, friends, friends who told friends, people in the Health Department - yet this continued for years! Then there are member of the Sanitation Dept. when these monsters left baby body parts out to be picked up - nobody saw anything? I find that hard to believe. Evil prevails when good people fail to act. The abortion culture has led many people to say, “There is nothing I can do . . . this is legal . . . blah blah blah.”
They blame the “rich” and the “right wingers” for causing poverty and forcing womyn to “make a choice”.
There are still hundreds of back alley abortionists like Gosnell, who were promoted to Main Street by the Roe v. Wade decision of the Supreme Court.
That Gosnell got away with this for decades is not surprising.
That he is now being prosecuted is.
This is one more indication of the fraud and corruption in Pennsylvania government under the governorship of Ed Rendell.
I pray that Tom Corbett will make it a priority to clean out the PA and Philly Departments of Health and every other department that oversees abortion clinics and abortion doctors.
Many of these so-called “practitioners” like Gosnell should be shaking in their boots.
Unfortunately, Tom Ridge was involved also. Governor Casey was pro life - Ridge was not - read the indictment - it states that under Ridge, the Health Department was influenced to look the other way on abortion mill safety issues (of course we know it is no safe for the baby!).
One joker who claims he knew Gosnell in med school wrote that he had heard that he “was performing abortions” but was hoping that he was doing “pro bona work” - I guess he meant killing for free rather than for profit. This is the legalized abortion mindset. These same people would have approved of slavery also.
Thank you for the warning. I started crying just reading your post. I don't think I could handle that report. :^(
