BREMERTON, Wash. (AP) - The aircraft carrier Ronald Reagan is scheduled for work at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in January 2012.
The Kitsap Sun says it will undergo maintenance similar to the yearlong $250 million job the shipyard began in December on the aircraft carrier Nimitz.

And when it comes out of the “yards” it will be MORE screwed up than when it went in(it will be typical drunk, drug addled “yardbird” UNION CRAP work). It will take the Ship’s Company almost 6 months to put it back to rights.
Reagen got an Aircraft Carrier, and the latest and greatest example of American Military power.
carter got a submarine, which perfectly mirrors his presidency: no one can see it and it can cause great damage when and where no on is looking.
Both Bushes will probably also get Aircraft Carriers, or destroyers (who chooses?)

I think it might be worth a trip across the Narrows Bridge to go see her when she arrives. I’ve seen the USS Abraham Lincoln when she was at Naval Station Everett. It just amazes me how BIG those ships are.

How old is the ship? I thought it was less than 5 years old? Union scum at the dockyard will wreck it.

I don't understand how wear and tear requires a year to repair at this point.

I liked it better when carriers bore the names of
battles, insects, or historic warships. We need
a Kearsarge, an Oriskany, a Wasp, a Hornet.

Wasp and Hornet were named for naval ships during the Revolutionary War and early Navy history, not for the insects per se.
Yes it would be a wonderful sight! I had a photo once of the U.S.S. Arizona Memorial with a newer ship next to it. Just amazing.

You mean our naval shipyards now resemble those of the old Soviet Union? The Soviets lost one of their boomer subs (K-219) due mainly by the crappy pipefitting work by shipyard workers fueled by vodka.
