Obama administration sources tell ABC News that President Obama later today announced an agreement between the U.S. and the People’s Republic of China to establish a “Center of Excellence” in China to promote effective nuclear security and safeguards. The Center of Excellence, to be jointly financed, will be a place where technical information can be shared, training courses can be offered, and collaborations can be promoted to “enhance nuclear security in China and throughout Asia,” the White House says. “It will also help meet the training needs for China’s expanding nuclear sector, and promote nuclear security best practices throughout the region.”

Jointly? Is that the number of joints he smoked before spewing on the teleprompter?

“The Center of Excellence, to be jointly financed...”

With their cash and the cash we borrow from them?

Genius.

Why does this sound ominously like some feel-good peace agreement that will ultimately hurt us more than it hurts them?

Maybe, maybe not. The company I work for is automating two of their new nuke power plants and we are hiring engineers because of it.

Probably, and then it means we give the chicoms our nuclear secrets like Bill Clinton and they give us a smile which last until they believe they will win the war..

The big question here is why are we sharing nuclear technical information with a communist country? Washington must have learned well from Al Gore.

Right

We give them our most sensitive nuc tracking software- and they learn how to defeat it

They hire some of our top managers to pass the technology to their professionals, then they build knock-off systems for all the proliferating madman nations

What’s not to love about this deal

Well, Comrade, it's just one good communist sharing information with another.

Well since the Center for Excellence is in China, commuting is going to be tough. Maybe they’ll let all the Americans telecomute? ;-)

The funny thing about China is it is recommended that you do not bring a laptop or any other such device with you. Only a flash drive or something similar and when you leave China, you throw it away.
