CNN's John King: "Before we go to break, I want to make a quick point. We were having a discussion about the Chicago mayoral race. My friend Andy Shaw used the term 'in the crosshairs' in talking about the candidates. We're trying, we're trying to get away from that language. Andy is a good friend, he's covered politics for a long time, but we're trying to get away from that kind of language."

Usually I’d try to think up something witty or sarcastic— but in this case, John King is just a big poo poo face.
1984 Language Alert: “Crosshairs” to be replaced by some euphemism. Candidates?
I’ll start: “Perpendicularly organized alignment aid”
why that’s just namby pamby...
“It’s mass madness you maniacs!” —Howard Beale
Another PC piece of crap...
“Control the language, control the argument”
LOL! Why not just admit that the whole Sarah Palin attack was bogus to begin with, so that you won’t have to do a ridiculous mea culpa like this?
Maybe they were referencing the KKK with that show title.
Its only been around for a couple of months since Palin used it. What are they talking about it/s STUPID
“Before we go to break, I want to make a quick point.”
They ought not to let him do that. He might prick himself.
"Grumpy rabbits"?
Replace “Crosshairs” with “sights”. Or how about instead of saying that “bill is in my cross hairs”, just saying “I’ve got a bullet with Bill’s name on it.”
Gawd these people are idiots. It’s hard to take them seriously. Has been for a long time, actually.
stupid jackasses.
I once worked for a moderately liberal government official. A decision went against him and he advised me “Don’t get gunshy, just sharpen those gunsights”. Believe me he wasn’t threatening to shoot anyone.
Now all gun or fighting terminology is about to become the new “N” word and all over an incident that had nothing to do with it.
I’m thinking back to the good old days of W. F. Buckley and “Crossfire.”
The new “c word”. Which is different from the other “C word”. You’re welcome.
I think a good name for a political show would be SHELL SHOCKED!
“Registration Mark”
“TONIGHT ON...uh... on... um... er... ...crossfire. *AHEM!*
