For two centuries, America's free market has not only been the source of dazzling ideas and path-breaking products, it has also been the greatest force for prosperity the world has ever known. That vibrant entrepreneurialism is the key to our continued global leadership and the success of our people.
But throughout our history, one of the reasons the free market has worked is that we have sought the proper balance. We have preserved freedom of commerce while applying those rules and regulations necessary to protect the public against threats to our health and safety and to safeguard people and businesses from abuse.
From child labor laws to the Clean Air Act to our most recent strictures against hidden fees and penalties by credit card companies, we have, from time to time, embraced common sense rules of the road that strengthen our country without unduly interfering with the pursuit of progress and the growth of our economy.
Sometimes, those rules have gotten out of balance, placing unreasonable burdens on businessburdens that have stifled innovation and have had a chilling effect on growth and jobs...

Over the past two years, the goal of my administration has been to strike the right balance. And today, I am signing an executive order that makes clear that this is the operating principle of our government.
This order requires that federal agencies ensure that regulations protect our safety, health and environment while promoting economic growth. And it orders a government-wide review of the rules already on the books to remove outdated regulations that stifle job creation and make our economy less competitive. It's a review that will help bring order to regulations that have become a patchwork of overlapping rules, the result of tinkering by administrations and legislators of both parties and the influence...

Coming from the guy whose EPA is intent on crushing the economy with cap-and-trade by regulation and whose Interior Department seeks to crush the domestic energy business. What an absolute joke this is.
Another moronic statement by Osama.
Wave a magic wand and all business’ ills will be healed.
1) First, find ways to reduce energy costs and increase supply. From drilling, approving nuclear plants, removing regulations and taxes. That has a direct impact on everything else.
More LIES from the LIAR
He won’t find any regulations that are stifling (much less strangling) American business. He’s from the government and he’s here to help us! yeah right!....red
A smoke screen for getting much, much harsher and more repressive regulations into place. One of the things that keeps some freedom in the system is the patchwork of regulations; once Bambi gets his centralized, unified, all-controlling system (formerly known as the USSR), he will have achieved his goal. One of them, at least.
Well guys, ya know that words have consequences and he thinks if he says something that it will magically heal the boo-boo. Nothing is going to happen.
Obama is already clearly in 2012 re-election mode. He’s finally learned few Americans want an unapologetic socialist as President, so he is taking a page from Bill Clinton and saying anything that gives the impression he is a centrist.
The old “Pay to play” regulatory fundraising scheme- ala Clinton and Obama’s ‘healthcare reforms’.
Unbelievablely well covered up I must say.
And for once I sympathize with the media- Obama’s campaign funds are going straight to them. And in an Obama economy that’s desperately needed revenue.

Very smart fella he is.
To the dopes on the street he looks centrist all the while circumventing the Constitution.
This is real smoke and mirrors.

— Yep. And those would be *real* changes that make a difference.
Obama learned the lessons of Mein Kampf well. Here we see the use of the “Big Lie”.
