Transgender's request a sign of the times

A Christian attorney and pro-family activist says the controversy surrounding a "transgender" student in Texas is a perfect example of what can be expected when the full weight of the new LGBT law is implemented in the military.

Fox News recently reported on the uneasiness among a group of female students at Southwest Texas Junior College when they learned that a 51-year-old man who underwent a supposed sex change wanted to move into their dormitory. The female students said they were afraid because their potential dorm-mate is built like a man and can overpower any of them. On Friday, the school issued a news release saying it has denied his request to live on campus.

Matt Barber, director of cultural affairs at Liberty Counsel, says the reaction by the other students in the dorm should be expected.

"The natural and to-be-expected reaction from any reasonable person looking at this situation should be that this guy is creepy," Barber says bluntly. "It is perfectly understandable that these young women are frightened. [It] just boggles the mind."

It is perfectly understandable that these young women are frightened.

...or maybe just "creeped out."

Love to see this He/She try to secure a dorm room at Smith College- the lesbian college capital of the world.

It’d be fun to watch - with Popcorn and everything.....

Well, if the female students don't want him...I know the male one don't!

I would have thought, being on a college campus, they would have welcomed this freak with open arms. This reminds me of all these environmentalists that demand alternate forms of energy BUT they don't want wind mill farms built in “their back yard”. They want US to have them in our back yards.
Going back to the freak in Texas, why aren't the college professors trying to calm the waters by telling the female dorm members that it is okay for this transgender member of society to share their showers, restrooms, deepest thoughts, boyfriends, etc....

Um, why would a 51 year old be living in the dorms anyway? That in itself is creepy.

Leaving the sex change out of it - there’s something wrong with a 51 y.o. who wants to live in a dorm with 18-22 y.o.s.

I went back to school when I was in my forties - can’t imagine wanting to live with those kids - they sure wouldn’t have wanted to live with me.

So the question in my mind is what would the girls think of a 19 y.o. post-op male-to-female transgendered roomie?

They want a sign??? ok, here it is...you have a male symbol for male bathrooms, a female symbol for female bathrooms.....build a third set of bathrooms, with a picture of cousin IT from the adams family on it...they are not male or female, but are IT’S....so, let’s identify them as such..

<Leaving the sex change out of it - there’s something wrong with a 51 y.o. who wants to live in a dorm with 18-22 y.o.s.

That’s true on many levels. 1) there’s a huge noise factor in dorms, it’s almost like being in prison. Not necessarily loud noise all the time, but it’s never really quiet either.

2) I visited one of my old dorm rooms a few years ago. They are small (and I had one of the larger rooms) and today’s kids bring a lot more stuff than I did in the ‘70’s. I wouldn’t want to be that cramped.

3) Wouldn’t you want to talk to people your own age?

I’m a prof. I enjoy being around young people and talking to them - and then going home. : ) Being charitable, I can understand if this is this guy’s first chance to go to college and he wants the whole college experience. But the reality of a 51 yr old transgender with a bunch of 18-20 yr old girls is that it is very creepy.

If a 50 yr old woman wanted to live in the dorm and experience college, it might be a fun, instructive experience for the kids as well as the woman - like a friendly house mother. But surgery or not, this isn’t a woman and s/he belongs in an apartment off campus.

I’m in a writer’s group and once a year we do a retreat where we rent a couple of cabins, one for the guys and one for the girls. No biggee until a couple of years ago when one of our male members decided he was really a woman. He had now gone to the ‘female’side in his hair, looks and dress but not the surgery. This last year he asked to be allowed to stay in the women’s cabin. We said no way jose; and then the men said the same thing. He/She was hurt that neither side would accept this. What a loon.

This is happening in the town I live in, in Texas. This he/she is just looking for a payday, it attended the church I attend and when he wanted to use the ladies restrooms the deacons of the church said no, he should use the family restroom instead. He filed a discrimination suit against the church. It is still pending.
