An effective, efficient use of ammo.
Monday morning good news!
Good shooting, Citizen. Civilization thanks you.
Reporter is an imbecile. You have to read to the third line of the article to see that the retired cop did not perpetrate the robbery.

I think this was intentional.

The poor boy likely needed the money for school books or work clothes as he was; 'turning his life around'
An 18 year old black man.

What Caliber and what load was the good guy using?
Thank you Officer..
Good job!
Any citizen that shoots AND KILLS a robber, rapist, car jackers, home invaders...ought to get a $1,000 reward.
He desperately needed OSHA approved steel toe work boots,
for a job he was considering.
But for the OSHA requirement, his Air Jordan Ultra Supreme Specials would have been sufficient.
“Don’t pick a fight with an old man. If he is too old to fight, he’ll just kill you.”
This wasn’t any old 18 year old black man. He was a current senior at Grosse Pointe South High School and was a star wide receiver on the regional championship team. He lived in GP Park and I knew him personally and he was the nicest kid you’d ever meet. I’m a white 17 year old and know that he was pulled into gang violence. Rest in peace buddy.
Do you know how many dead and jailed black men are described by people who knew them as just nice kids who got pulled into crime?
The grandmother always says what a nice Grandson he was.
When a person takes a gun to rob someone , it is a given that they may use that gun and kill an innocent.
He may have been the greatest wide receiver your school ever had, he may have been student council President and got straight A’s, he may have been nice to animals ,and his girlfriend, but one night he went out with a gun prepared to kill——and he got killed, and he won’t do it again.
I too hope he rests in peace.
I was his midterm partner in one of my class. It’s just strange not having him there.
Welcome to Free Republic.
I appreciate that you knew the armed robber and have fond memories of him but do you also appreciate that the victim of the attempted robbery responded appropriately by defending himself with lethal force against your friend?
Will you go forward and speak out against these gangs you speak of in your neighborhood and or school? Stand up to them? Name them to the appropriate authorities? At least work deliberately to keep any of your other friends from falling into these gangs?
