SANTA FE, N.M. New Mexicos newly elected Gov. Susana Martinez has come out swinging with a budget proposal that would cut spending and close the budget deficit without raising taxes or making cuts to classroom spending or health care for New Mexicos most vulnerable.
Martinez also stated one of her first priorities is to revoke driver licenses issued to illegal aliens, pointing out since Arizona passed SB 1070, illegal aliens have been pouring in to New Mexico, which does not require proof of citizenship to obtain licenses.

‘Stewing’ is okay, I guess — ‘Boiled in Oil’ would be better.....

She was one of the GOP/conservatives in 2008 that I was most excited about. I loved her campaign commericial where some female teacher or lib mole attacked her. She ran a response ad that was priceless. Oh yeah - she looked familiar - I convicted her husband and put him in jail for... I forget the charge but the ad was fantastic and hilarious. The charge was kidnapping. Here is the commercial:

Well then I agree with Jeb. We shouldn’t ignore them - especially the illegal ones. We should pay particular attention to shepherding them home so they can get their act together...;-)

So which card will the Libtardian minions of Mordor on the Potomac throw at Gov. Martinez....It won't be a card. The annointed one'll exhume the Josephus Bidenosaurus and ship his carcass over to New Mexico to have a talk with the Governor-lady.
And the Josephus Bidenosaurus will say to the Governor-lady:
"I know ILLEGALS! I've experienced ILLEGALS! There's NOTHING I don't know about ILLEGALS! I've been in the Senate a hell of a long time and lemme tell ya, the SENATE KNOWS all about ILLEGALS!"

Woohoo! Another strong conservative woman emerging from the field of mediocrity and weakness. Now we’ve got Martinez, Palin, Bachmann, Noem, Blackburn, Mcmorris-Rodgers, and probably a few more I’m not thinking of at the moment.

I doubt it will not be over-turned by some Liberal Judge.....”Motor-Voter” was SPECIFICALLY designed to get Drivers’ Licenses to the Democrat voterbase, which consists of 100’s of thousands of Illegals.

Eric Holder will get right on this, and sue the state of NM like he is doing to AZ. Bring it Barry! This Governor is tough and determined to un-do Richarsesons’ eight years of progressive libtard dammage. You go Susanna!

How the heck did she get elected?
Long story short, New Mexicans are fed up with liberals, liberal policies, and anything that even remotely reeks of the corrupt Bill Richardson. I voted for Martinez, and am damned glad I did. That said, our old governor Gary Johnson catches a lot of flak here on FR, but he's a good man. Fiscally conservative, and mostly libertarian on social issues.

FANTASTIC! There may be hope yet. I am heartened since after such a long time of Richardson I thought NM was a full fledged liberal camp.

I thought NM was a full fledged liberal camp.New Mexico is politically schizophrenic. There are liberal enclaves (Santa Fe, Indian Reservations), and then there's Catron County. Richardson got elected because of name recognition and the fact that he's Hispanic. Hopefully New Mexicans finally recognize him for what he is now, especially after he's inflicted all kinds of devastation on the state.
One example: Gary Johnson left office and the state had a surplus of funds. Richardson was elected and managed to pi$$ that away in short order, then along came the Rail Runner and his other pet projects to make things worse.

What Disambiguator says is pretty much accurate. A good thumbnail sketch of state politics. I’d call it “balkanized” though sorta like Cali that is mostly conservative east of the coast ranges.
