I could not find a link for the above. I found it to be a powerful essay, despite the typos. Please try not to be too distracted by them.

I don't like the analogy. The Southerners were more true to the vision of the Founders (weak central government, powerful sovereign states) than the Northerners. Slavery was a bad thing, but this country became broken when the North waged an aggressive war against the South. Tyranny won out.

I cannot see the radical Left of today as equivalent to the South of yesterday.

The left blamed Katerina on the right and that seem to have worked.

“The left is losing on all fronts: in getting operatives elected to the state legislatures, elected to the governor’s mansions, elected to the House and the Senate,”

The left STILL own much of the media, academia and entertainment sectors.

This war is a LONG way from the left losing.

I’m reading Back To Basics for the Republican Party by Michael Zak.
I think it’s the latest addition. Pretty darn interesting.

Don’t remember given information about politics in screwel back then
other then to learn the Presidents names.

One thing we have learned. That is before King Obama was elected the sheep followed this glib tongue nitwit like the pied piper. And this following was well over 50% and still. in spite of the obvious lies and deceit, almost the same body follows him now. The reason is the many years of the communists infiltrating our government, legal system, MSM, and almost all of the educational system. This fight will take generations to cure if ever.

If we were ever to blame the most egregious it would be the MSM. They keep the sick in line with the evil forces that is systematically destroying our Constitution and our freedom.

"So now the story has shifted to the question of why the left would attempt the libel in the first place, and stick to it so long in the face of contrary evidence."

This is not a serious question, is it?

Look. It's easy: The American people have bought so much of the Left's baloney in the past few years--why wouldn't the Left assume that they'd by this piece of rotten baloney too?

RFK was right that there was a highly charged conservative climate when his uncle was killed. The draft Goldwater movement was in full swing and even Nixon, when he heard that Kennedy was killed, first asked J Edgar Hoover if it was a right wing nut.

But then, as now, the conservatives had nothing to do with the crazed, violent actions of the assasin. The goal of the left is to destroy their conservative opposition. Taft, Goldwater, Reagan, Agnew, Buchanan, Palin, even Nixon early on, Bork. They’re people in their way and must be destroyed or at least thoroughly discredited.

The leftists are the real nuts.

If the Tea Partiers gain control of the core ideological levers of the GOP, they will systematically strip the welfare state and the left
of all of its pretended political legitimacy. And the left will lose everything.

I pray for this every day.

The Left Is Desperate That It Is About to Lose Everything

This is something Glenn Beck has spoken about extensively. They're at their most dangerous because they sense it slipping away.

This is a good one. I think the author’s analogies are actually pretty good. Certainly the Left’s reaction to the attempted murder of Rep. Giffords is nothing if not a knee jerk panic reaction.

The left senses that the country in general has rejected them. And we have.

The best illustration of this lay in the makeup of the Tea Party self subscribed members. They came from ALL parties, NOT just Republicans and the right. Democrats and Independents make up something like 40% of the membership! The Tea Party is not a far right ideological group. It’s center right, just like the overall makeup of the United States. Center right.

THAT is what scares the pee out of Democrats and leftists. Not to mention we are very awake now, and the sleeping giant is grumpy at what the left has been doing in it’s living room. We are armed with the truth and reality, and that is the weapon the left fears FAR more than guns, or cross hairs or targets.

They simply can’t handle the truth. They are the enemies of freedom, and we know it. They know, we know it. I think ultimately this is the reason the left has made such a colossal error in judgment, fear obliterates reason rather thoroughly.

Its worth studying the 5 stages of revolution as a general map of what the left has done and what they’re trying to do.

Very stupid analogy:

The Southerners of the 1830s, 40s, and 50s watched in horror as the North was transformed by an industrial revolution fostered by the liberty of "free labor," with rapidly spreading prosperity and a population that was swelling from falling death rates and massive influxes of immigrants, while everywhere in the South society languished in medieval poverty. They realized their system was doomed. In one more generation, the North would out-vote them on every national question, and—if the votes weren't counted—would outnumber them and outshoot them on the battlefield. Their response was aggression. To balance the votes they were sure to lose in the House and for the presidency, Southerners belligerently demanded that slavery be extended to all of the territories (from California to Minnesota), and they threatened to beat or murder anyone who spoke out against their cause. Finally, seeing that their social system was inexorably losing in lawful political competition, they bet everything and rolled the dice on secession and war.

The left's journolists pre-planned ambush was nothing like the South of the 19th century. The South's society that believed in a strong state government and a weak Federal Government was much in keeping with the founders.

"a popular, right-wing, and neo-Confederate campaign of threats is underway to silence the left by physical intimidation."

But the Right does not want to silence the Left or anyone or anything else. The Right has consistently demanded Freedom of Speech, the Free Exchange of Ideas, the Free Flow of Information.

A truthfully informed public is essential for representative government. The public and the electorate must know the truth about what's going on.

This is the greatest complaint that the Right has made about the Mainstream Newsmedia: that its operatives distort, slant, selectively report, and at times falsify the information communicated to the public--and that this dangerously misleads the public. But there has been no call and no attempt to silence this.

The call is for Truth--Truth for Its Own Sake--and Freedom of Speech, the Free Exchange of Ideas, and the Free Flow of Information!

I do not consider myself to be particularly of the Right--though I am DEFINITELY NOT of the Left. But I'm not omniscient! I can be mistaken! Everyone can! I want to hear every possibly argument and every possible point of view. I am constantly trying to understand different points of view--not only to enable me to make good judgments--but also because truth is fascinating, propaganda is boring, and understanding different points of view and opinions leads to growth and wisdom.

I could not even count the times I have changed my opinions in view of new information or after considering the viewpoints of other people!

I will always be open to new ideas and new truthful information.

My main objection to the Mainstream Newsmedia is that it cannot be relied upon to be truthful and its propaganda becomes boring.

But I DO NOT want to silence dissent, contrary opinions, or any other form of Free Speech!

ABSOLUTELY NOT!

Could it be that more and more Blacks are seeing the left for the modern day “carpetbaggers” they are, who NEVER intended to give them their “40 acres and a mule”?

Leo Ryan, murdered at the Jonestown massacre in Guyana in 1978, a non-partisan event.

Not really. Jim Jones was a major Marxist who was close friends with a number of California democrats, some who remain in power to this day.

Leo Ryan was murdered by the left. The only reason it is remembered as "non-partisan" is that the GOP was either too polite or to big a bunch of sissies (take your pick) to bring it up.

Ttoday, the left is threatened by the possible takeover of the Republican Party by Tea Party activism.

It is done. And will be more obvious soon. Michael Steel's replacement was a real indicator. Bring it on.
