The Weekly Standard ^ | January 16, 2011 | Nina Shea and Paul Marshall

Over the past 30 years, under Pakistan’s laws criminalizing blasphemy against Islam, hundreds of Christians, Ahmadis, Hindus, Sikhs, and unorthodox and reformist Muslims have been tried and imprisoned by the state or killed by extremists. But even against this brutal background, the blasphemy-triggered January 4 assassination of Punjab governor Salman Taseer by one of his elite security detail may prove a defining moment.

Oh it only took how long for any mainstream media to give us the real story?

Thankfully, Dr. Jack Wheeler told us about this.

Several friends were amazed when I broke the news to them.

It's a scary place.

I remember reading Who Killed Daniel Pearl back in 2003 and thinking to myself, "we should be more concerned about what happens here."

Partitioning India was probably one of the most worst consequences of World War II.

Seems like Moslems are way more blood thirsty than Hindu’s.

Good Call to segregate them.

India has memories that go back more than a few decades... more like millennia... rotsa ruck partitioning away lands that used to be part of their mainland (on top of the Islam problems). At least Hindu fanaticism generally stops at the border of India — you will find Hindus and their temples all over the (free) world but they very seldom give trouble to any foreign society.

Well that’s what I was trying to say.

You have two religions of “Peace” and only one that walks the walk.

The other is a backstabbing scammer.

Actually most of the fanatic Muslims moved to Pakistan after the partition in 1947. As it has turned out, India is better off without them. India is doing quite well once it dumped Nehru/Gandhi/Congress Party/Big Gov’t socialism and discovered capitalism. India is world’s most populous democracy in continuous fashion since 1947 with zero military coup’s. Whereas Pakistan had military dictators most of its existence.

Satan's ultimate plan. One day a nuke armed imam will declare all humanity infidel, and exterminate us.

Yes, it's that sick! He hates us, and our extermination is his goal.

Agreed. See how India has flourished without its crazies.

India's probably better off without them.

I'm not sure the rest of us are in such a peachy condition though.

If the muslims were not causing so many problems, India would not have needed to be split up. While this violence is unfortunate, it just shows that these people are savages and they do not belong in any country which wishes to be civilized.

If Pakistan wants to destroy itself with its stupid blasphemy law, then so be it.

Truth is blaspemey under Islam—so you have to lie to survive.

Mohammed took the books of both the Old and New Testament—edited them to support his Satanic delusions while adding text to make himself a god and to make any who dissent capital criminals.

Nonsecular Fascism.

I recently read an interesting essay which compared the national progress of India versus that of Pakistan since 1947. The difference is astounding. The author argued that this difference could be laid directly at the feet of Islam and the socio-political culture it cultivates. If there is a valid refutation or counter to his argument, I’d be interested to hear it.
