TUCSON — A victim of the shooting spree here that severely injured Rep. Gabrielle Giffords was taken into custody on Saturday after the police and witnesses said the man spoke threateningly at a televised forum intended to help this stricken city heal.
Eric Fuller, 63, a military veteran who was passionate about liberal causes and who had supported Ms. Giffords, was “involuntarily committed for mental health evaluation,” according to Jason Ogan, a spokesman for the Pima County Sheriff’s office.
Mr. Fuller, who was shot in the left knee and the back on Jan. 8, was among several victims, medical personnel and others who attended a special forum televised by ABC and hosted by Christiane Amanpour.
State Representative Terri Proud, a Republican, was sitting two rows behind Mr. Fuller. The topic of gun control had come up in the forum, she said, and a comment was made by one of the speakers about a bill that was introduced recently in Arizona that would allow staff members on college campuses with concealed weapons permits to carry guns.
Ms. Proud said she spoke up to clarify the exact language of the bill. At that point, Trent Humphries, the founder of the Tucson Tea Party, who was sitting one row behind her, rose to speak and suggested that discussion about gun legislation be postponed until after the funerals. He started to explain that he, too, had been affected by the tragedy through a neighbor who was a victim.
That was, according to Ms. Proud, when Mr. Fuller blurted out to Mr. Humphries: “You’re dead.”

I know there have been several different postings he has made as well as his numerous interviews.
He is discribed on the Fox website (as of yesterday)as a Naval Aviator, where did they get THAT.
VN is my era, yes our young men suffered PTSD BEFORE it was PTSD. At least the young people today have the help they need. Our guys battled this pretty much on their own.
This is why I question this guys story.
1) Naval aviator?
2) other than physical discharge ( the recruiters told the shooter No way)
3) he was attacking people BEFORE the townhall meeting (previous Giffords event)
4) visiting the house of the shooter, for some sort of healing
5)majority with ptsd moved on with their lives and went on to have productive and peaceful lives. Why didn’t he do the same?

So how does that explain his violent outburst at a Marine BEFORE the shooting. Article says Zimmerman had to separate Fuller from the Marine.
Sadly Zimmerman was murdered and we will never know the truth unless someone from Gabby’s team talks.
Yes, makes you wonder what’s wrong with this one. It’s obvious he’s got some mental issues. It would sound like he could possibly be a danger. After what happened yesterday.
Earlier this morning I saw Fuller being escorted by police and I told my husband that the guy was drunk. He was behaving like he was at least tipsy if not full blown intoxicated. Now I read his background which is quite enlightening as to his current political acting out.
Supposedly he has been sober for a year.
Would ABC actually allow a visably Drunk person to sit on the front row at a taping?
I saw the tape also, he was being rather agressive with the Deputies.
Were the Deputies afraid of being seen as “PIGS” to the leftist media and Sheriff?
He was arguing before the shooting, which means he’s a little unhinged already (passionate for the libs).

Yes the media would allow a visibly drunk person to sit on stage if necessary. Drunks can be visible without seeming to be inebriated. Impairment is not always alcohol related either. Wonder if the public will be informed of his sobriety status at the time he was arrested? When pigs fly!
I caught the last few minutes of Amanpours propaganda fest.
They told about the incident, did NOT report what fuller said. Glossed over the whole thing calling the incident a “MISDEMEANER”
If someone had directed that comment to a DUM like AMANPOUR, they would have been thrown to the ground searched and immediately put in handcuffs.
Yes it sounds like it. I thought I heard on the radio this morning they were just keeping Fuller overnight. Seems like an awfully short time for a death threat.
I agree, I’m not so sure he’s a vet. I’ve seen people before who’ve claimed they were vets and were wounded in war. Note: several congressmen have done the same.

Yes I did see the one post. Where a doctor said he was traumatized and some people lash out angrily at that. Have to say, I’ve lived awhile in this old world. I don’t ever recall someone that was in something like this ever going a few days later and threatening the life of someone who had nothing to do with what just happened to them. This guy is a nut job. If they let him out and he hurts someone there will be h*ll to pay. And believe you me, it sounds like he eventually will. I don’t think you need to be a shrink to figure that one out.
I question this: military veteran. I would like to know for sure, straight from the military if he actually served.
Oh yes, it would be a BIG mistake for the Rads to think they will get by with attacks on Tea Party Members or Conservs.
Exactly!!! Most American’s are very fair minded people. I think the far left liberal dems, have already committed harry carry, they just haven’t figure it out yet.
Hopefully we will find out. I don’t see anything on the Pima County site yet that would pop up. (like Maricopa County).
