Im with you , Victory Gal. As a snowbird resident of Giffords district, I thought the Presidents remarks were spot on, wholly appropriate, genuine, and moving. I also thought Robert Shelton (U of A Pres) and the crowd were an embarassment. And no, Im not a newbie troll. Ive been hanging around this site for over a decade. I agree with almost nothing this president has done, but this time he got it right. I totally agree. However, Obama should have had more control over the events of the ceremony. It appears he allowed his staffers, the DNC, and the University of Arizona to control the ceremony and the crowd. This was the mistake, and shows ineptitude of leadership on the White House's part.

I like Beck. I admire Beck. I've listened to him a bit and often enough to know that he himself is prone to confuse platitudes and insight. Maybe he really did think Obama was presidential. The dolt.
