I know many of you will disagree with this opinion. And let me be clear: I oppose Obama unreservedly on his socialist policies. But unlike the left, I look on substance and not personalities. For example, if a legislator advocates for strong enforcement of the borders, it's a good move regardless of whether there is an R or a D after their name. Ditto helping the military in the theatre of war and at home. And I oppose Peter King's gun stance while I approve of nearly every everything else on his agenda. Labels aren't important to me. Actions are.

So if this president delivers a good speech that honors the slain and the heroes that ran into harm's way to save their fellow Americans, I (and Glenn Beck, apparently) feel like it's appropriate to give credit where credit is due despite how fiercely I oppose Obama's legislation.

Contrast this with the automatic hateful knee-jerks of the left who baselessly tie the heinous shooting to Sarah and (most absurd of all) Glenn Beck himself.

Like I say, I know many of you will disagree with my (and Beck's) opinion here. Hopefully not to the point of being zotted :-). I feel like we are strong enough to debate this amongst ourselves. And believe you me I will still be actively involved in making sure the new Congress sticks to the job they were elected by US to do... bring this country back to its sane roots.

God bless you all and God bless America.

Prediction.....Beck will self-implode. He will not be renewed next year. He will bring it on himself. Conservatives will be the first of his viewing base to go. They're going, already, as a matter of fact.

Then he can fall back on his radio gig and book writing, maybe "tent"-type evangelizing, touting his heroes, MLK and Ghandi, and spreading his own concept of pacifism and how to live.

Too bad...when Glenn is good (exposing Obama's communist appointees, etc.) he's very, very good.....and when he moralizes for a full hour and when he promotes false gospel and idols, he's horrid.

A good speech has nothing to do with leadership and good judgment actions do.Are you handing out the first bait to support Obama for his next run for office? or a sucker for a good speech?.

With Obama, political expediency is all that matters. As evidenced by his innumerable and outright blatent contradictions, he will say virtually anything to advance his agenda. His actions will soon contradict everything he said in this speech. Just watch. If he believed what he said, he should have spoken up much sooner against the vitriolic and baseless attacks by HIS liberal allies and spared the country from days of endless political bickering and further devisiveness.

Remember one thing: It’s not what you say, it’s what you do that counts.

I don't agree, and I am quite certain that Beck will have to eat his words very soon.

When was this president ever sincere? The entire "event" was a campaign rally. T-shirts?? If he really wanted to give words of comfort he could have broadcast from the Oval Office, with no audience. But then, that would not have served him well.

Glenn, I know you’re under a lot of pressure to be fair, but get a grip! Any boob can read a speech. The REAL Obama praised Sheriff Dupenik for his work FOLLOWING the slaughter. How could you give the Marxist quarter? Bob

Sorry.

I didn’t listen to his speech and I have no desire whatsoever to even hear his voice. When he comes on the radio, I flip the station. When he comes on TV, I turn the channel.

Don’t forget - this is the man, who, from his very first day in office, set about to destroy the United States as it is in favor of a new socialist matrix. A well played speech doesn’t change that simple fact one damned bit.

Give him all the accolades you want, that’s fine. He won’t get any from me.

2 points to make here:

1) Third time I've ever disagreed with Beck (1st was Mormonism, 2nd was his ridiculous anti-Birther position)

2) Clarifying Beck's statement:
This was the best free Tshirt-accompanied Presidential campaign speech ever delivered by a Kenyan usurper at a funeral while standing atop a row of coffins.

Frowning takes 68 muscles.
Smiling takes 6.
Pulling this trigger takes 2.
I'm lazy.

The pResident has already compromised any respect he’s due in my book. There are only 4 words I want to hear from him; “I resign effective immediately.”

That “memorial” was nothing more than a sick, morbid rally to stoke the anti-gun folks and the liberals.

If Beck is too stupid to see that, then he deserves the pushback.

Your comment and those on this thread who endorse your view of POTUS' "performance" at the "memorial" at UA this week serves to illustrate precisely WHY a communist like Obama has been able to successfully attain power and hold sway over half of the voting population of this country.

Truth be told, many who love to preface their admiration of this charlatan with comments such as "I oppose Obama unreservedly...BUT..." are in-the-closet Obama voters and supporters. Enamored by his slick oratory and "feel-good" rallying many who love to tell us how much they hate his socialism, union thug cronies and other philosophies, just can't bring themselves to completely condemn this pretender.

My husband and I were talking about this Thursday evening, noting that acquaintances and employees of ours who voted for Obama were having second thoughts about his socialism yet could not quite pull the lever for a Tea Party or GOP candidate in the last election. Now the election is over, those same voters gripe about not liking the "socialism". Well there-in lies the problem. These people who aren't so enamored of his little "s" socialism, just haven't yet realized that the path we are on is not just big "S" Socialism, it's full out COMMUNISM.

The feel-good rally at UA this week was an OBVIOUS kick-off for the 2012 election (complete with t-shirts and ready-made slogans that would make any community organizer proud) and all the RIGHT media people and pundits are patting Obama on the back, in essence ENDORSING him and his fellow Communists for 2012.

God does bless America, the tragedy is those 40%+ of Americans who don't love this country enough to protect and preserve it.

Why didn't they have a Catholic priest and a Rabbi give the opening prayer? Catholics have been in that area for hundreds of years. There were no Indians shot.

Why did they give out t-shirts?

Why did they cheer and whoop it up? What was with all of the back slapping and picture taking before this event?

Because this was a distasteful pep rally.

No Glenn...

He was ACTING as if he were President of all of us Americans.

His un-American, Socialist agenda is still intact and in motion, just at a slower pace now that he has lost most of his Socialist majority.

He, and his kind (don't wet your beds Al and Jesse. I mean Socialists, not black people) is STILL a danger to our Republic and MUST be stopped from continuing to ruin our traditions, Constitution, freedoms, and way of life.

In addition to stopping his agenda NOW, he MUST also be turned out on his ass come 2012...

WITHOUT FAIL.

After four years of Obama's speeches, nothing has changed. His words still don't match his actions. The Tucson event was a political rally and another opportunity for Obama to give a long winded speech, in his usual smug and condescending fashion.

Again, nothing has changed. Obama remains a leftwing ideologue and a demagogue, and conservatives should not be praising him for offering up the same old rhetorical BS.

I wonder, what is the pathology that forces the victims of a blood libel to falsely compliment their abusers?

It sounds like a form of battered wife syndrome, where one wants to make the abuser like them, forgive them (because the abuse is the victims fault), and to force a truce of some sort so it won't happen again.

The GOP is simply a sick-in-the-head political party...they have been taking it for 40 years running, and don't even realize that they are enabling their abusers now.

Republicans need to step down to 3rd party status and work on themselves, and get well. Let the Tea Party take over battling the enemy Democrats and their media.

LOL!, A little wiggle room? Well, Sarah, possibly....., maybe....., perhaps..., but certainly not Glenn Beck! Nice...

IMHO, I would say that, between the two, if at all anyone, Glenn Beck would be more likely than Sarah, to incite a deranged Jared Loughner type.
