I’d vote for Tom Delay.

“Texans For Safe Reliable Transportation (TSRT) was created by Joe Krier of San Antonio in late 2005. TSRT calls itself a coalition of individuals, employers, associations, and public safety organizations dedicated to improving transportation in Texas. At the time of its creation TSRT had three board members. In addition to Krier the other two board members were Lawrence Olsen the executive vice president of the Texas Good Roads/Transportation Association in Austin, and Donna N. Williams a vice president of Parsons Infrastructure & Technology in Dallas.

*snip*

Donna Williams is the wife of Texas Railroad Commission member Michael Williams.

Press Releases were regularly issued by TSRT from July 2006 through September 2006. Guest editorials were also submitted to various Texas newspapers with a by line of Donna Williams, TSRT.

TSRT has placed numerous billboards throughout Texas promoting the Trans Texas Corridor in 2006 and 2007.”

“Kay Bailey Hutchison is not seeking re-election in 2012. Who should replace her?”

I dunno...how about a NON-AMNESTY loving conservative?

Dewhurst to the U.S.Senate and Michael Williams to Lt. Governor, then Williams on to be Perry’s replacement in the next term.

I would run except it seems that Senators from Texas have some sort of mind altering experience when they get to Washington.

Is there an inoculation against stupidity available?

As long as it is not a Pro-Illegal/Anti-American Open Borders type. A strong National Security/Secure Borders candidate would be needed in a state like Texas....someone to stand up to the Illegal Alien Lobby, North American Union anti-Americans, and the La Raza/MEChA/MALDEF crowd

Kay Bailey Hutchison is not seeking re-election in 2012.

Thank goodness and good riddance.

Who should replace her?

Michael Williams or John Culberson. Maybe Ted Poe.

I hear the Lt. Gov. has mega bucks and can self finance his campaign if he decides to run.

There will be a plenty lined up I expect. It remains to see who will be viable in the presidential year........

From the DMN is a note of some potential candidates on both sides of the aisle.

http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/news/politics/national/stories/011411dntexhutchison.ae8333f3.html

Likely Republican contenders to succeed her include Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst, Dallas Mayor Tom Leppert , state Sen. Florence Shapiro of Plano , Railroad Commissioners Elizabeth Ames Jones and Michael Williams, Weatherford car dealer Roger Williams, and Ted Cruz, a former Texas solicitor general and candidate for state attorney general.

Possible Democratic contenders include former Texas Comptroller John Sharp and former Houston mayor Bill White.
