The part that everyone is ignoring from Obama's statement at the campaign rally in Tucson is that it contains an indirect acknowledgement that rhetoric was indeed to blame for the Safeway massacre. He called for people refrain from blaming any specific individual, while still citing the climate that the harsh rhetoric has created.
