Top Chef Tom Colicchio Scrapes Bottom of the Barrel During Giffords Tragedy
News Busters ^ | January 12, 2011 | Doug Ernst

Anyone who’s seen Bravo’s "Top Chef" knows Tom Colicchio. He’s a man who knows how to cook and a man who knows good food. And, while his taste buds work magnificently, he’s apparently politically tone deaf. In the wake of Representative Giffords' shooting last weekend he served up a dish that turned the majority of the country’s stomach. He wrote on Twitter:

Sarah Palin had Rep Gifford in her crosshairs. She is now officially dangerous.

If it were not for double-standards the Left would have no standards at all.

I’d say I was going to stop watching him but I’ve never watched this show or even heard of this moron. Anyone know who his advertisers are?

I forget, how many Micheline stars does his restaurants have? That’s right, none. He is just another cook.

I’m so broke that I cut my cable 6 months ago. Used to watch Top Chef, but last season in DC was it for me. I’m done.

You know I cant be 100% sure of this but from what Ive heard and read and learned about Mrs. Gifford she would be appalled at the way her “so” called friends have handled this crisis. My prayer is she wakes up and then WAKE THEM UP!

Glad is the major sponsor of the show, ponying up most of the costs and prize money. That’d be the easiest target; the rest of the sponsors are cookware, knives, etc.

I gave up on the show after the DC series where every Lib Rat hack was used as guests. Remember who owns BRAVO. NBC. That is why the show is constantly slipping in green agenda talking points and this season they have the contestants shilling for Toyota when they are interviewed.

Coliccio is just another brain dead Upper East Side Rat. Other than getting in early on this show, I don’t know of any culinary excitement he has created. Who cares what he says?

Rating for the current season of the show are in the crapper:

Toyota seems to be a big sponsor this season as well. The big prize for one of the challenges was a Prius (gag), and there have been a lot of other gratuitous product placement shots of other Toyotas.

Top Chef lost me a couple of years ago when they catered to a Gay Wedding.

Used to watch Top Chef, but last season in DC was it for me.

What?

You didn't like the episode where Nancy Pelosi was the judge?

You didn't like the dinner with John Podesta and Joe Scarborough at the table?

I love the Prius. I smile thinking that they are saving gas for me to use.

Statement: "Top Chef Tom Colicchio Scrapes Bottom of the Barrel During Giffords Tragedy"

Response: By having this individual spout off his "thoughts" the left is merely ensuring that all media markets are exposed to the idea that conservatism is responsible for the shooting.

Comment: The left moves like a choreographed ballet.

Mario Batali is a talented chef, but he’s a flaming liberal too. Don’t these “stars” realize that they are alienating half of their potential customers. When Michael Jordan was asked to speak in favor of some democrat he refused, saying “Republicans buy shoes, too”.

I’ve never heard of him or watched him. I will make a mental note of the name and avoid the channel which sponsors him. It’s the only way to shut these folks up. Hit them where they make their living.

His Palin remarks figure. From the comments section of the link:

When he wasn't playing with his salad bowl, (Tom) Colicchio joined Mrs. Obama and Cat Cora, Marcus Samuelsson, White House Executive Pastry Chef Bill Yosses and pastry assistant Susie Morrison, Todd Gray of DC's Equinox restaurant, and Bill Telepan of New York's Telepan restaurant in picking arugula..."
