As Sarah Palin has just learned, keeping up with the rules about using phrases that are associated with Jewish history is not as simple as it used to be. I was under the impression that the list of phrases that were considered off limits for general consumption was confined more or less to those associated with the Holocaust. Meaning, for instance, that the use of the word "holocaust" should be confined to discussion of events surrounding the genocide of Jews in Europe between 1933 and 1945. But even that stricture has been hard to enforce. Indeed, when an episode of the TV show The X-Files once referred to the mysterious death of amphibians in a lake as a "frog holocaust," you knew that the word had become more of a metaphor than a specific historical term.

Tempest in a teapot. Plain is living rent free in their minds, 24/7!
Then check the current version. All references to “Christians, Cathars, Carthaginians, Knights Templar, witches, Wiccans, Christian heretics, Roma, Druids, neopagans, Native Americans, atheists, communists, and satanists” have been removed.
I suppose it will ping-pong back and forth until somebody gets tired or actually has to go to work.
Nope I sure haven’t.
Arch. Plain=PALIN
Durn IPad!
Whether or not the liberals like it, “blood libel” now means wrongly accusing someone of having “blood on their hands” or being responsible for a murder. With the accusation typically made to discredit a political adversary.
LOL, I think I figured out what’s happening! Apparently IPad has some sort of spell checker and it’s replacing the correctly spelled words it doesn’t recognize with the closest “corrected” spelling it can find! Arch is supposed to be a r g h!
Yes. You might say I was divinely inspired by THE WON.
Let the liberals keep this up, they sound shrill and desperate. To most fair minded American's(which is the majority) this is going to be huge turn off. The left is going to spontaneously combust any minute now. The sad part is this is really hurting our country.
Interesting how the left can easily blame Palin, Beck or Rush for this crime.
But they hold Bill Ayers to be without blame, and his close friend Obama - well he is just about perfect, let alone blameless.
The hypocrisy is overwhelming.

They are playing this for the voting age children in college and the minorities with conservative views who couldn’t vote for a supposedly bad person.
They could care less about the usage of the term 'blood liable' - they were avoiding addressing Palin's point and by changing the subject with this red herring, and ensuring everyone else did, too.
Here’s another example of her lack of hardcore political experience. She never had to use the phrase that others had been using in her defense since the shooting. Let them take the flack. She should’ve risen above the fray. Instead she incorported a term fraught with meaning, both historical and religious, for Jews, and applied it to herself, a Christian.
That’s a tin ear. That’s lack of judgement. And that’s just another reason why this lady is nowhere near being ready — or capable — of leading this nation.
What's that old saying? If your not a liberal when your young you have no heart, and if you aren't conservative when you get older, you have no brains. I think that's how it goes anyway.
Good point.
The only rule is that whatever Sarah Palin does is wrong according to the evil ones.
I had this discussion yesterday with my sister who is married to a non-observant Jewish man. She said they were deeply offended by Palin’s use of the term because it was about Jews. Honestly, I didn’t know it was off limits, as I’ve heard it in other contexts, not related to Jews. She said it was like say the “n” word to blacks. I found the article by Alan Dershowitz saying it’s not exclusive. She didn’t care and went on a victim rant.
I know about the history of the word, but have not been able to locate any copyright or trademark on them. It’s just another excuse to attack Sarah Palin. She used the words in EXACTLY the right context.
And, as my husband said, GET OVER IT!
In spite of the spelling?:)
