White House operatives passed out t-shirts to the crowd with Obama's new campaign logo, 'Together We Thrive.' The words were also taped to the seats in which mourners would sit during the service.
Thanks for the link!
If Obama is considering using the slogan “Together We Thrive”, he should have looked at today’s job numbers first. lol
“HOW is it possible they had imprinted on them the 2012 campaign slogan of the Obumbler?”
They had the 2012 on them?
I couldn’t tell. Could you please find a pic of it?
He appeared to me to be the Obama in 2008 campaign mode, issuing very lofty rhetoric that no one could, or would, interpret at the time. IOW...doublespeak.
I was very disappointed in the after speech rhetoric on FNC. They didn’t seem to listen to what he said, and was caught up in the lofty rhetoric of which we became so accustomed...and some of us wee-weed up about...in 2008.
I know that less than two years is a lifetime in politics. But, after last night and watching the aftermath on Fox, I can see that he’s going back to the pre 2008 election Obama.
That means that there will be many who are sucked in, once again.
I know what you mean about baseball leagues, and how they make a town seem smaller. My daughter played softball in the St. Pete area of FL. The Toronto Blue Jays have their training camp there and, while my daughter played, the parents manned the concession and, in turn, the team gave their concession budget to the LL. The girls got their own fields. ;o)
Anyway, you get to know people with whom you would not ordinarily be in contact, and the longer they play, the more families you get to know. I can just imagine what was going through your mind when this all hit.
So...did you get the T-shrit? It lol
I was pinged to this thread, and was very surprised...though I shouldn’t have been.

Maybe it was just his emotional turmoil but the first set of photos seem to contradict this set, dont they?

I really don’t understand what you are getting at?
These shot were taken off a link such as this one sorry it did not come in a lovely wrap pink bow.
Now that site seems to be pretty much scrub.
No matter how you slice it seating arrangement put Kelly on the end and grabbing the lapel is real!
If you haven’t heard Fox was put noticed to show liberals in a positive light!
I do think allot of the people there were students...which BO loves to get them all wired up and easy to do that. WHich is why they chose the University setting in the first place I think, knowing full well the students would attend.
He willl again play to the students across the US...they’ve been already brainwashed by the school system to swallow his lines. Easy prey for him. Plus they have the time to invest in his run. So it’s easy to recruit them.
What I was referring to was the expression on Kelly’s face in the first photos you posted. The look in his eyes came across as angry, distrustful. In that last photo, his body language screamed it. You can see his jaw is clenched tightly and his hands are practically in fists.
In the second set you posted, they’re hugging.
Hence my comment about contradictions.
Not complaining about what you posted. Sorry if you took it that way.
lol No t-shirt or bumper stickers for me. So disgusting!
Sorry I misunderstood.
I think Kelly was conflicted he is polite yet frustrated at the behavior of the ignorant treating a memorial as a rally for political opportunity
Obama always stages his big appearances at a university when it’s feasible.
Despite what some people would like to believe, there was an almost festival atmosphere. People were laughing and joking before the ceremony. Then, during the speech, the crowd erupted in applause, then Gibbs said that there were no applause lines in the script.
Hogwash!
The T-shirts were a dead giveaway, though. The saying came from OFA, so it wasn’t an accident no matter who ordered the shirts.
The kids may have been fired up to see Obama, but I bet there will be much fewer of them who will vote for him. Many of them will have graduated by then, not to mention those who turned out for him in record numbers in 2008, have graduated, and don’t have jobs.
Don’t underestimate the indy vote, either.
I believe 2008 was an anomaly.
LOL! Good for you! ;o)
One of our daughters told us today about one of her teachers who attended the rally/memorial. The teacher confessed that she screamed out, “We love you Obama!” during a pause in his speech. Daughter looked at her teacher and said beratingly, “It was a memorial.” Teacher said, “I know, but I love him.” blech The teacher had recorded herself acting like a crazed fan of a rock star at what was supposed to be a memorial for the victims of a crazed gunman. The other teacher who has fessed up to attending this event was ashamed of the behavior of the crowd. I have to say that I would have expected opposite behaviors from these two teachers.
I guess my point here is that it wasn’t just college students who acted inappropriately.
I hope you didn’t think that I was implying that college students were the only ones acting disrespectful! Not at all!
It’s not at all unexpected that the venue would be up to their eyeballs with union members, too. The fact that it was held at a university led me to think that the teacher’s unions would be all over the place.
God bless your daughter for recognizing what was going on. She’s one smart cookie...and that apple didn’t fall far from the tree. ;o)
Oh no, I didn’t think you were saying any such thing. I think I lost my train of thought and was trying to wrap up my point that was meant to be fact-based informative. I also think I should stop thinking and go to sleep! hah
Daughter is much more intelligent and assertive than I am. I’ll credit her daddy and maybe a few good genes on my side.
And his frustration was definitely justified. I'm not sure I could have held my composure nearly as well if I'd been in his place.
At least things seem to be coming along well for his wife and that gives him something to be happy about; to help take his mind off the other night's fiasco.
Yep, Rahm’s quote sums it up.
