Is it a memorial or an Obama rally? Souvenir t-shirts emblazoned with the logo for the 'Together We Thrive' gathering at the University of Arizona were placed on chairs at the arena ahead of the memorial.
It's odd for a memorial to a mass murder to have a logo, but it's crass to hand out souvenir t-shirts.

Sounds like a campaign slogan. Very tacky and out of place at this somber occasion. How much did someone get paid for coming up with it??

The T-shirts you mean? Looks like “Together We Thrive” is some sort of program for libraries supported by federal grants. I so wish the rest of the world didn’t get to see how little respect we have for our fellow Americans. I feel ill.
Perhaps the biggest danger to the survival of the hospitalized Representative Gabrielle Giffords at this time is that the corrupt political manipulators may feel that she is worth more to their propaganda efforts dead than alive.
Let us hope she survives such base motives and despicable plots and recovers to good health and lives a long life.

It sounds like they’re test driving the new “Yes We Can” or “Hope and Change”. They need a new slogan. Can you imagine if Bush had handed out tshirts at his 9/11 memorial service? If he had held it at an outdoor stadium?
A service like this should be held at a church or a synnagogue(in Giffords’ case) or some similar location.
Having a rally at an outdoor event, using campaign slogans, and giving out tshirts(I wouldn’t be surprised if Obama has people there signing folks up and getting email and cell #s) is rediculous.
Of course he knows the media will never call him on it.
Hopefully enough people see it for what it is.
Excuse the sickness of this reply, but on the back of the tee-shirt it says: “I lost a loved one at Tuscon, and all I got is this lousy tee shirt”

Who paid for these?
You know I just got to thinking about the shooting and I know it was bad really bad and sad but what about all the other people who are murdered on a daily basis why Is this become such a big deal? is it because Judge Roll was killed and congresswomn Giffords was injured. I was searching the net under “Together we thrive” and found all kinds of articles about how a nation is healing blah blah blah I dont mean to be insensitive but It just strikes me as odd
